I've been playing EVO unregistered for a while now (gonna do it soon), and Cap'n Hector started attacking me with a blaze cannon. Then as time went by I was being hit with 3 blaze cannons, then 3 blaze cannons and some phase cannons. Has anybody seen anything else being shot at them by Cap'n Hector?

I have heard of this phenomenon, but I have never experienced it... even though I racked up about 100 hours of game-time before I registered. Hector appeared with ever-increasing frequency, but all he ever did was hail, hail, hail. Oh, and steal about a a third of my bank balance every ten planetary landings or so.
Think about it though... a hundred hours of fun for $25. And the folks who don't get into the game never have to pay. (I tried Ares, for example, but didn't like it.) Shareware is a great business model.
I believe this is my 500th post. I'd like to use this 'anniversary' to thank Ambrosia for supporting the Macintosh platform. It makes me laugh when a PC user requests a version of EVx for Windoze... look how many games we have to do without, or pay top dollar for when they've already been re-released on a budget PC label.

Reasons I didn't register:
1. At first I figured it was pointless since I only played a little bit at school.
2. I thought EVN was coming out any week now
3. I used to pirate alot.
Since I've gotten the game, reason one went away because I play way too often at school not to feel guilty. Reason two because I looked at the webboard about two times. And reason three because I've somehow obtained a moral code. I'm going to register as soon as I can get the money if I can fix up a mac that I recently got for free.
Anybody else seen anything interesting fly out of Cap'n Hector's ship?
