I thought of this idea for a warship, though with my current pilot I haven't the resources to try it. What do you think of this: A Miranu Heavy Freighter with all cargo space converted to weapons space, then filled with whatever your heart desires.

Yes....... very slow................ and pointless...............considering the UE Cruiser which has more space, is stronger and probably marginally faster.

It'd be sort of good, but remember that it would also cost a lot. A Zidara would be better overall, although a horde of secondary weapons would be nice, there's the "max. guns" and "max. turrets" to prevent freighters from becoming warships.

I've tried it though I used 1.0.0 and bought cargo pods and expanded them too then sold them so I ended up with -ve cargo space but a lot of weapons. I didn't like it because I was up against Voinians and was carrying strand weapons but you do get an awful, awful lot of secondary space. It is kinda cool. You also have a greater range than in any warship so it works well as a blockade runner (courier is better IMHO but this works too).

Hmmmm.... Interesting idea. How about load it up with tons of Pursuit Missiles? Then it would be good as a support cruiser that gives cover fire for frigates and other fighters. It wouldn't need to be fast because it would be a long range attack ship, and for the same reason it wouldn't need very good shielding either. Of course, 3 or so fighters wouldn't hurt to just help protect it if the opposing force made a go at it.

Personally, I could only stand Scoutships, Couriers, Freight Couriers and **perhaps ** the Miranu Freighter. But a heavy freighter? I don't know. Too slow. But fill the thing with fighters, and you've got a nice ship. Try this:
Azdara Bay Crescent Fighter Bay Zidagar Fighter Bay <-- Remind me, can you get this? If so double-mission with the Azdgari and Zidagar to get both
Pursuit Launchers, Dispersal Rockets, perhaps SADs.......
Dispersal rockets are important, as they increase your ships close range strength. Turreted rocket launchers would be nice, but you can't get them, if I am correct.
The Miranu Heavy Freighter with a warship conversion would make a very interesting pers. It would probably be a Q-ship, existing to lure unsuspecting renegades into the attack and then revealing a large battery of short-range weapons.
I don't think the style of play would suit a human player, long-term, but it would make an interesting ally... or enemy!
Carnotaur, I think the maximum ammo load for some missiles is actually quite low if you're using as many launchers as possible and operating away from a source of supply. Having six hundred tons of equipment space isn't as useful as it sounds. An AI would make better use of it, because they seem to be able to fire mixed barrages of secondaries much faster than we can.

ive tried it, having azdaras and cf's to complement your weapons is fun, but it gets extremely boring, it's a nice idea though
