You can hardly call 'crap' an offensive word. We had a big discussion on B&B; before, with Captain Skyblade and Jude flipping out over someone saying 'damn'. (the person was me, but there ya go)
Mild swearing is fine, but some people are just oversensitive about these things. They generally have their reasons, and you have to respect that. Just don't use them excessively or needlessly, as then that really will offend people.
