Why? When I came up with this idea it was like a democracy - to give us common people the ability to decide who deserves karma changes.
If you limit it to mods there's no point. Moderators can do it anytime they won't, so they don't need a poll.

Gunsandturrets, your a GENIUS! this is the best idea in a long time! we members check the boards a lot more often than the mods do, and of course, the mods would have the final say, but still! the mods miss things! (like the krait fighter post)

Besides guys, if Andrew wanted you to be able to raise someone's karma, then he would have allowed you to do so. However, only mods are allowed to do it, and for good reason.

Mods please close this topic. The reason andrew made the karma system is to give the mods more control, there is no way andrew will change that.

Captain Skyblade and Carnotaur are right; this isn't the way karma should be done. The mods are the only ones who can give out karma, and they do a good job of it most of the time. When someone does something karma-worthy that the mods overlook, someone posts a post like this: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum8/HTML/002455.html#")http://www.AmbrosiaS...ML/002455.html#(/url) . But those occasions are rare, and certainly a topic specifically designed for voting on karma isn't necessary. No offense, but I think this topic should be closed.

No offence but this is a load of fetid crap. You have no idea of the amount of time the mods spend on these boards. It's a lot, and that's why they're appointed. I know this because I spend a lot of time here and I look at who's browsing the boards. Most are mods so don't get the impression that mods aren't an efficient team of trained karmaslappas
