Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is the Monty Python manoeuver? I have an idea of what it is but I'm not sure.

Flying away from an opponent while still keeping them in your own firing distance. This way you can shoot them while they helplessly fly after you. It's called Monty Python because of the battle cry in Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail during the killer-rabbit scene... "Run away!!!"

The Monty Python can be an excellent way to get rid of swarms of fighters, but it really takes away the challenge of them game. Maybe Nova will make it where the AI is smart enough to turn away if they know they're getting shot at and making no progress.

EVO 1.0.2 makes it more difficult to Monty Python, and Nova will supposedly make it impossible.

Yeah ok, but if you think about it... If you have a fast fighter, you're practically invincible... Just swirve around any opponant shooting at a safe distance... CHEAP I TELL YE!
I've used the Monty Python maneuver against the Voinian Dreadnought, and it worked too... except it took like 20 mins. For defense against fighters, I prefer the Miranu Defense Pods. They work great, they're cheap... I know some people don't like them much, but I do.

This is one of several "alternate" versions of the maneuver. Others include catapulting cows onto attacking ships, or hitting them with the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch (after counting to three).
PAH! The MP is a name for a pet snake.
To me it seems that the Monty Python maneuver still works in 1.0.2 for the most part. I use it all the time, though it does seem "cheap."

In a faster ship I can't outrun enemies any more! I don't USE the Monty Python, for crying out loud!
I used to take down Voinian fighters in my Shuttle using Outcircle, not the Monty Python. But now I can't, because suddenly my speed is actually less! I can't use the whip manouvrer - they gain on me if I do that.
What the HELL is going on? <pardon my language, but I'm annoyed>
