the only description of the Hinwar I can remember is that they are tall..
'You notice an odd tall alien wandering about the bar..'
And I'd say they are very physically strong.. The Voinians had to put that station above their planet in order to keep them under control... So I bet they can be very agressive..

No I put my user name in there. The name off Men In Black is K that asks the Alien Mikee or Mikey with a y close enough. K asks Mikee to hand over the head because he was dressed as a Mexican I'm talking about the alien, and no I'm not making fun of any other color or race. You know the movie with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones that's Men in Black.

No, its not it's spelled Gaia!
Based on their ships, I think humans have grey skin, crimson eyes and hair, and blue wings.

I'm glad this thread was dug-up, very interesting. I think that the Azdgari have tails, because of the Azdara description saying that it required upgrades to allow for a human pilot.

I think the Emlagha are like tallish dwarves. Rough skinned, dark eyes, long beards. Also, since they have elders, I think their society would be sort of monkish. I also imagine them wearing cloaks and practicing martial arts.

I always thought that the Voinians looked like the enemies from Marathon Infinity who carry the "Alien Weapon" which you can also use. I never really gave any thought to how the other races specifically looked, but I thought about some of their general characteristics. Igadzra would be tall and thin, with yellow-orange skin, and no hair. The emalgha would be short, hunched over, and brownish-grey. The Miranu I never really gave any thought to, but they would be a gree or blue color. The hinwar...well, I don't care about them.

Wow. Talk about digging up the old topics. I remeber this from when I first registered (which as you can see was a pretty damn long time ago ).
So who found/dug it up?

I did. I forget what I was searching for, but I came across it and found it interesting. Then I stated part of my theory about the Strands.
I think of Miranu as tall, orange like humanoids. Why? In the descriptions of the Miranu Courier, it says that these may have been the ships that people called "UFO"s that came and abduct people on earth long ago (that's present day, today). According to some abductees, the aliens actually, well, mated with them. This is why i think the Miranu are humanoid-like aliens. And the tall part? i dont know, Imir in EVO is described as a tall miranu.

THANK you. By the time I was done reading this post, I was going to shoot out that statement (sort of) myself. You cannot base what any species' ship looks like based on outward appearance. Look at us humans today. Our airplanes aren't designed to emulate how we look. Rather, I propose the idea that the build/agressiveness(sp?) of the races is based on their level of technology(sp?Again.) On one end of the scale, the Emalgawalgagagala whatevers. They have a much cruder design...wooden spaceships. This suggests that they are primative, and must rely on physical prowess to survive. The Vonians have rather advanced technology, but still falls far short of the strand races, once more suggesting why they are considered to be strong, though not as strong as the Emlaphants, since they were able to overthrow them. Humans are at a happy average...but if you look at our planet, animals that tend not to use technology (i.e. bears, sharks, and anything else big, mean, and with teeth) are usually larger, predatorial, and aggressive. On opposing end, the Izdagamagatas. Ok. I can't spell anything, deal. They have lightning-quick ships, and highly advanced systems that don't rely as much on brute power. This suggests that they are the most advanced, and thusly probably have the weakest bodies.
Don't believe me? Look at how humans have become weaker as we evolved.

Yeah, but you can tell how races in EVO look by looking at the clues given in certain missions, planet and ship descs, etc.

Heh. But I've seen Cap'n Hector.

Actually, you coulden't tell what they looked like based on ship, planet and mission text. Here's why. With several bar scenes, you're approached by a 'tall' or 'heavyset' alien. The game does give the that. It DOESN'T, however, tell you whether this is compared to you (the human) or others of that species. For a mundane example, if you ever saw, say, a foot-long ant. You'd probably say "Hey, look at this huuuuuuuge ant!" You're saying that it's huge compared to normal ants. Not to you, the person. So a tall Emalgaha (or whoever) could be three feet tall, and be a giant to his race, or could be eitht feet tall, and be considered small. It's all relative.
i always pictured the strands to look like mordon to look like like, except the one that looks like a phfor, i pictured it to look more like a mix between the ones with the fire alien weapon and piccolo. i also pictured the voinians to look like piccolo but scaly, gray, shorter, and with big red eyes

Right, but, since you've never seen the Hinwar before, when they describe a tall alien to you, it is most likely relative to your own pilot... Of course, you could just say that the pilots in EVO are all midgets or something like that, but whatever...

My opinion:
VOINIAN - Similar to the typical alien called "greys" that we know about, but more muscular. Remnants of a powerful tail, descended from whatever the prime predator was on Voinia. Fur on Voinians make no sense to me - that'd make them just silly. 6'1" average. I'd imagine only real Voinians fight as captains, and slaves work on planets or large ships. EMALGHA - Dark skinned, perhaps slightly greenish complexion, actually. Long straw like hair, wear heavy woollen brown capes, trimmed beards, hair on their feet (hobbit like if you've read the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings). Taller than hobbits, though, about 6'4" on average. MIRANU - Aquatic, but only ones that come directly from Mira. I think they would share these common features; small round ears, flattish noses, perhaps trace of gills, blue hair or blue "crystaline" type hair, human size, wear blue and white mainly, but often wear lots of bright colours. A huge society, with many variations - perhaps a sub-race or two of brutes. ZIDAGAR - I think the Strands would be vaguely lizard like in the beginning, with transparent skin and visible veins, though. The Zidagar would have slightly sharp tongues, and only very slightly sharp teeth. They would wear purple for the most part, and funny head things that cover the back of their necks. They would have wild hair, vivid eyes and be human size. High gravity on their homeland would mean that they the natives there were slightly bulky, and that the Zidagar in general would be inclined towards plumpness. Skin colour taken a purple tint. Ears between Azdgari sharp and Miranu round. AZDGARI - The closest looking from the people of Gadzair, due to similar conditions. In my opinion there would be little variation among the Azdgari; sharp teeth, very long tongues with two fork-like sharp points. They would have greenish skin colour, perhaps slightly red within some sub-races. They would have long hands, very long and delicate fingers, and long legs. Dull eyes, sharp pointy ears. IGADZRA - They would have great variation. Skin colour from white-cream-yellow-orange, with mainly light hair but variations of brown too. They would be large and powerful, sort of like what you might expect of a very muscular farmer, but with slightly curved forward ears, short stubby fingers <since they don't command fighters> and powerful legs. The Igadzra would wear black robes that cover their faces and hide their body structure. HINWAR - Similar to Voinian, but smaller and with more human eyes and body structure. After all, they live near each other. - Yes, I know that there would be tremendous variation just between two planets.
Finished now. The others I haven't really thought about, and for the most part I can't supply reasons.
