Well, Jude has closed MOPAA. Pretend that never happened, and continue from where we left off.
ESPilot - I agree, Voinians are annoying, but I don't get irritated, unlike fighting Azdaras, or Kraits. I like to blow up annoying stones with cannons.
Who's got some stories? orders some freshly brewed Saalian Brandy, shipped direct from Saalia, or so the sign says

I agree, the other "Moments of Pride and Accomplishment" topic did get too long...It was really becoming a novel.

this isn't much of a story, but it sure is satisfying, seeing all of the little Adzgari fighters kamikazie straight into your turret fire and just bounce off and explode! heheh
------------------ Don't call me Batman EP on Twang
Well, I think I'll christen this topic with the Official StarStrafer seal of approval and offer up the story of something I did earlier. I even came up with an unoriginal title:
ASSAULT ON COUNCIL STATION
Anyway, my beefed up UE Cruiser, the StarCrusher , had procured an impressive escort armada of 4 Crescent Warships and an Arada, so I decided to have another crack at Council Station. I made my way from the Svass System (I've got the "Reign of the UE" plug installed at the moment) all the way to Gadzair. As usual, a single merchant vessel was the only ship in the system, this time it was an Arada. I disabled it and added it to my escort fleet, so I now had a full complement of Escorts. Then I backed off some distance from the station and launched my fighters: 3 Crescents and 2 UE's (I really need to restock my UE bay). Finally I hailed with the intention of demanding tribute.
No response
It was then I realized I had attempted to hail the Planet Gadzair. So I switched targets to Council Station and tried again.
StarCrusher: "Surrender of die, you enigmatic scum!" Council Station: "You'll think twice once you see our mighty ships coming at you!" (or something like that)
Instantly, my brave escorts engaged full thrusters and headed for the station, the warships launching their Crescent Fighters as they went. My fighters, naturally hung around me like idiots, waiting for me to spell it out for them: "GO FIGHT THE SHIPS THAT ARE TRYING TO KILL ME." Naturally, I did. With a lightning fast reflexes I typed "RF" in a single finger motion, and my fighters headed for the nearest target.
I had tried before to dominate CS, so I knew I would face a powerful wave of Crescent Fighters as the first Warships launched them simultaneously. I continued on course away from the station. When the fighters caught up with me, they managed to take out my shield before I destroyed them all. Since I have Dospect Armor in addition to the Cruiser's already powerful armor, I wasn't too worried. I knew what came next. Few of the Warships would survive the gauntlet of my escorts, so all I had to worry about were periodic fighters in groups of three. My fighter pilots are frighteningly incompetent, so even though I kept ordering them to attack the fighters, they would rarely get in a hit before the fighters reached me and I was forced to deal with them. Occasionally I would forget about my fighters, and they would return to formation around me. Even then, I could order them to attack a fighter that was beelining for me, and they'd fly right past it without firing, then follow it back until it got to me and was destroyed, then they'd wait for their next target. Eventually, I just kept them fighting Warships.
This becam routine after a while. I was holding position some distance from the station, and destroying the fighters as they came. And my fighters and escorts were taking care of the warships, which totally ignored them and tried to fly right for me. The fighters kept me at just about full armor, so I could just sit there and do this until the ships finally stopped coming.
But that's boring.
So when a break in the fighter waves came, the StarCrusher opened a channel to my fleet and announced "I'm going in" (I think I actually said that out loud, but no one else was in the room). As I got closer, I found my fighter pilots surprising me with another display of total incompetency. All five were dogfighting back and forth with a single Crescent Fighter, missing it completely. I had no idea how long this had been going on, so I aimed my cannons into the path the fighter was going back and forth through, and just continuously fired until it was destroyed and my fighters were free to take on another enemy. Then I ran into one of my Aradas doing THE SAME THING with another CF. I destroyed the fighter and the Arada went off to rejoin the main battle. I got closer and closer to the action. The fighting got intense, I was fighting of CF's left and right while trying to Monty Python CW's at the same time. My armor started to drop steadily, and finally I thought to myself "Okay, bad idea" and ran away. I escaped the main battle with 0% armor.
After letting my armor recharge to about 10%, I tried a new tactic. I began making large, slow circles aroung the station, encountering fighters and an occasional CW that had escaped my fleet's wrath unscathed. After a few circles, I came upon my other Arada dancing around another CF just like my fighters and the first Arada had been doing. I sighed and began firing into the fighters path. Unfortunately, I wasn't watching my sensors while I did this. Suddenly, a swarm of Crescent Fighters was all around me! I fought valiantly, destroying many of them, but I hadn't let my armor recharge enough. About an hour into the battle, the death alarm sounded, and the StarCrusher lit up the endless night of space as it went out in a MAGMA-enhanced blaze of glory.
------------------ The last time I was on this board, the price of dumb questions was really high. Ask me what I'm doing.
WAHAHHA nice story! Hm I did almost the same thing! I was fighting for ages and then I also ended up dying of some stupid mistake.. (Ever noticed that the sound of the turrets keeps on going after you have finished fighting the CS?)
------------------ Arrrrrrr, matey!!!!
Oh jeeze that sucks StarStrafer!Thats pretty much what happened when I assaulted the Station in my Arada (read about it in MOPAA, its back aways). Except I don't use escorts, and obviously no fighters. I killed more than you would think however.
I'm going to post my last story, because I think many people saw it closed, and just went to read another topic. I may be wrong, but here y'go!
I was in my Icewind Falcon, on my way to Emalghia to make contact with the Emalghions. After a few fun battles with the space-logs in UE space, I thought I'd help out the little guy. I jumped in, landed on Emalghia, and went into the bar. As I expected, I got the mission. This mission ends with you defending Emalgha from a Voinian Fleet. I took off, and was pumped. I was going to be like an axe chopping a tree down in this battle. The fleet arrived. However, when I took off, two extra Voinian Frigates were already in Emalgha. My backup arrived: 5 or 6 Emalgha Fighters. The Voinians arrived: 1 Voinian Cruiser, and 4 Voinian Frigates + the two that were already there. This means it was Me + 6 Emalgha Fighters vs 1 Voinian Cruiser + 4 Voinian Heavy Fighters + 6 Voinian Frigates. I battled with the Heavy Fighters while the little wood-beetles gave their lives. All 6 were dead by the time I finished off 2 Heavy Fighters, equivalent to about a minute or so.I finished the 4 rocks off, with 85% armor or so. I saw that the majority of the fleet was stacked. 4 Voinian Frigates were VERY stacked, and 2 loose Frigates were almost orbiting the Cruiser, who was in the middle of the whole fleet. I figured I should go after the biggest threat: Mr. Cruiser.
I targeted him, shot him, and got a response of a barage of rockets. I began dodging and circling wildly, and only a total of 7 rockets or so hit me, before they stopped. I got phase fire in on the guy when I could. When they stopped firing rockets, I began to make constant circles around the whole fleet. This made the Cruiser pretty much stand still, rotating; and the Frigates kept moving around and around so they could hit me. I dodged most of the neutron fire. About 3 minutes or so later of semi-constant phase fire and neutron dodging, another Voinian Frigate hypers in, and joins the fleet. Now I had some more rockets coming after me. When he joined, I was pretty much at a stand still of 50% armor. I had trouble doding the new rockets, and quite a few hit me, but I was able to regain my armor enough before another hit not to do any severe damage to me. Eventually, he stopped firing rockets, and I went back to dodging neutron and firing phase. Finally, after about five more minutes of this circling/dodging/firing session, I disabled the Cruiser. I thought "HAHA! I should have this battle under my belt now!" and I went in to finish him off. Next I went for the two lone frigates, who seemed to have bonded together. I was met with a few more rockets from the semi-new guy, but he quickly stopped. I isolated him, circled, fired, and dodged for a few minutes, and he blew up. I was working on the second lone voinian, when I saw a big dot coming from the bottom of the radar. I was north of the planets, and now knew the fleet was getting reinforcements. I saw no fighters, so I knew another Frigate had joined. I was being bombarded by neutron fire by the lone voinian, and had trouble dodging it. This guy's captain must have been a smarter one when it comes to 1 on 1. The newest voinian caught up with the group just as I finished the current guy off. The group was quickly (for voinians) approaching the disabled frigate. Good timing! As soon as they were around the frigate, it finished blowing up, and probably gave some big dents to a few frigates. By this time, I was in the danger zone. I was hovering around 25% armor, and slowly, SLOWLY, recharging. I saw a lone voinian, and went after him. I was met with rockets AND neutron fire. I knew this was the new guy, and a smart one. This guy also knew how aim undodgable rockets. I dodged a few, BAM! I met contact with it. I dodged a few more, BAM! Contact. Although I was trying to shoot as much as possible, I was also trying to dodge and keep my distance as well as I could. He stopped firing rockets, and switched to bombard me with neutron. I took some hits, and this brought me into EXTREME MEGA DEATH DANGER GET OUT OF THERE zone! The voinian then launched a rocket, and it was heading right for me. I couldn't get out of the way in time. BAM! Klaxxons begin screaming, I panic, I know it is over. KA-BOOM! The Icewind Falcon is no more.
Lousy Voinians!
Well, another Emalgha battle has happened. I think its another good story, so I'll tell it.
I hypered into the Emalgha system, after the trip from Outpost Alpha. I saw a hostile big dot, with 4 little hostile dots coming out of it, on the radar. A Voinian Cruiser. The main fleet then came in. 3 Frigates and 1 Cruiser. I went after the 8 Fighters, while the Emalghians bugged the others for the few seconds that they could. I blew up the 8 fighters, and went after the closest Cruiser. I always go after the biggest threat first, after the fighters have been taken care of. In this case, the main threat are Voinian Cruisers. I targeted the closest cruiser, and it was the second oneΒthe one that had been in the system all along. I began to make circles and dodged back and forth between his rockets, and that was the whole battle pretty much. I disabled him by the time the 3 Frigates had caught up. He blew up, and went after the now second isolated cruiser. However, a second big dot was next to the cruiser. Another Voinian Frigate. I had flown circles around the main fleet earlier, so I could get rid of their rocket supply. I was able to trick the Cruiser to come with me, and the Frigate to go the other way, and got the cruiser isolated again. I began circling him, as usual, dodging what few rockets he had left, and the Neutron fire. Eventually he blew up, and I thought again, that this battle was done with. The new Frigate was somewhat isolated still, so I went after him. I planned that anyway, because now the main threat were his rockets. I was around 75% armor when I engaged him. He was the one of the smartest voinian captains I've seen. Even with my afterburners, his rockets were HARD to dodge. I took three in about a minute or less. I was firing for a while, and my armor charged back up to maybe 30%. He was almost dead (or I think) when he began the rockets again. He fired one, I slammed into it's side. He fired another one, and I almost dodged it. ALMOST. BAM! WARNING! WARNING! KABOOM! Again, I lose.
Anybody else have some good war stories? Feel free to share!
OK, here is Voinian Mega-Fleet vs. Crescent Fighter Round 3. I see no one is commenting on my posts. Either you are all annoyed and bored with the same story, haven't paid attention to this topic, or don't have anything to post. Anyhow, here's round 3.
Ding Ding!
I jumped into the Kelmaon system, as I wanted to be closer to my target than Outpost Alpha. I landed, and got together any supplies I might need: Rations, a fresh supply of brandy, etc. I lifted off, and headed for the Emalgha system, for the third time. I jumped in, and found not 1, but 2 Voinian Cruisers already there! A brave Emalgha Warship captain was being brutally decimated by both sadistic Voinian captains. He blew up pretty quickly, bless his soul (not literally). The Voinian fleet jumped in. The usual 3 Frigates 1 Cruiser. Ofcourse, with the combination of the 2 other cruisers, I had to deal with 12 Voinian Heavy Fighters. I said, outloud actually "If I survive this, I will be amazed! Charge!!!" With that said, I met the stacked group of Heavy Fighters. I was also met with about 30 Rockets launched simultaneously. It's a scary sound. I began making circles, while dodging hail storms of rockets. I had a little difficulty with the fighters, but they mainly died out in a big group, I must've had the bottom fighter targeted. This made me also hit the others on top of him, thus disabling most of the group in one big clump. The others were sort of in an "escort" position, and died individually. After taking them out, I saw the Frigates had stacked for the most part, and I saw a lone dot on the radar, far from the big clump of Frigates. I knew this was one of the three Cruisers. I immediatly blasted over to him, and began circling. The whole fleet must've used their rockets, because I was met with Neutron fire only. I began to circle, fire, and dodge furiously. I knew if the clump were to reach me, I would have more trouble than needed. When I engaged him, I was around 70% armor. It was a boring dogfight. Firing, dodging, firing, return firing, dodging, and so on. When he became disabled, as usual, the clump had reached me. I was given the trouble I did not want, but all I had to do was blow the guy up. I blew him up, and headed for the next isolated dot. However, I now noticed a fourth Frigate had joined the crowd, this means new armor, new shields, and, new rockets. I ignored him for now, and was able to drag the Cruiser farther away from the clump, and away from the new Frigate. I repeated what I did to the first Cruiser, however the clump got to me quicker than the first time. Also, the new guy was there too. I had to do a few circles with the clump, and avoid rockets, before the Cruiser was disabled. After I blew him up, I headed for the third guy. By this time, I was semi-low on armor: 35 maybe 40%. I blasted towards the guy, and repeated. He must've been damaged a bit, because I blew him up just as the new guy got there. He was still a little isolated from the rest of the gang, and reached me first. After the third Cruiser explosion, I went for the rocket bearing Frigate. He gave me more trouble than the three Cruisers combined. I began my circling, but he knew how to use his Turreted Rockets. I was sensing Deja-Vou at this time. I took a hit, and my armor went down, I returned to circling, dodged some rockets, and then took another hit. This repeated itself MAYBE 2 more times. I then retreated a bit, because I was at 5% armor. I did some wide circles, to avoid risking the chance of a direct rocket hit, and to see how far away the clump was. They were still trailing behind, so I knew not to rush it. I recharged back up to 25% armor, and knew it was a major risk, but the clump, by now, was getting too close for comfort. I went back in, phasers red-hot. I was not hit with anymore rockets this time. Mainly because he only fired two more, and then stopped entirely. After that, it was the usual circling and dodging. After he blew up, I went after the clump. They had been somewhat split up from the second Cruiser fight, and I could go after them one-by-one, and not have too much trouble. Two were still close together, so I went after the semi-isolated third. He must've taken some damage, because he went out quicker than the previous Frigate. I was given no rocket trouble, and only took a few Neutron hits. Ofcourse, the two other Frigates caught up before the current died, but they had only Neutrons to fire at me, so it was no big deal. After the Frigate blew up, I pushed "R" and went after whoever it brought up. I began circling this Frigate, and doing the usual routine. I blew him up, and now knew for sure I could say I had this battle under my belt. When I engaged the last Frigate I was back on my feet at 65% armor or so. I did my stuff, for about 3 or 4 minutes, and then the red targeters turned gray. I did it. I was able to destroy 12 Heavy Fighters, 3 Cruisers, and 4 Frigates in a Crescent Fighter, without landing. I finished off the idiot, scanned around, found only Emalghions (ians?) and declared victory! I hailed Emalghia, told them the system was safe, asked to land, and was greeted by an officer saying, "Thank you human, we now declare you as a friend. You may have saved Emalghia this day." or something like that, and was given not even a million credits for my work. Not worth the battle. Also, I was only at "Good Egg" for all of that! Lousy Emalghians!
Now, I have shared 3 stories. Someone else want to go?
Something very odd just happened to me. I was at Outpost Theta, and I got a "Defend Outpost Theta" mission. I take off, and find a Voinian Cruiser, and what I thought was a UE Carrier already there. I didn't see the UE backup arrive, but I saw the Voinians arrive: 5 or 6 Voinian Frigates. I only saw the Voinian Cruiser when I took off, I never saw him again. I then see a UE Cruiser AND Carrier! I then see 2 UE Destroyers who either like to go in and out of UE Cruisers, or that UE Cruiser had Destroyers and Fighters. I target the guy, and see U.E.S. Paaren! I thought there was only 1 UE Cruiser Flagship! Well, between all the forces, all but 1 Frigate survived after 2 minutes or less. All fighters from the Paaren and the Carrier were lost, both Destroyers were lost, and the Paaren retreated at 1% shields, and the Carrier became disabled. It took me about 5 seconds to disable the lone Frigate, and I looked at the carnage, and then landed.
Anybody else see the U.E.S. Paaren?
Jeeze! Something interesting happens everytime I go into EVO! This time I met with Matt Burch!
I was in the Bakka system, on my way back up to Emalghia with the Ambassador from Earth. Of all ships, I see a Turncoat. I target him, and see it's Matt Burch! I think "OH BOY!"
There wasn't anybody else in the system, aside from 2 FCs, so I opened fire. I then learned this guy is like the Nadir on Steroids. He launched 5 Kraits at me, I was real scared. I blasted them away, and he kept launching needle missils, over and over and over and over and over, as quick as the Nadir. Ofcourse they all kept spinning in circles. He must have 23 billion, because he didn't run out for a LONG time! And, these Needles were kinda pushy when I hit one of them. They would give me a little push, luckily not as strong as the rockets. And, because they would spin in circles, sometimes if I were to hit one, they would push me towards him, and I would get in range of his many rocket launchers, and his many blaze turrets. He also has shields that are maybe a little stronger than the Voinian Dreadnought, but recharge much faster than the Crescent Fighter (2.5/sec) but slower than the Azdara (13.5/sec). I began firing, and after a minute, he was at 80%. He was still firing Needles too. He wasn't even aiming at me though. He was turned away from me, however flying towards me (I was behind him) and launching missiles. It was almost as if he were practicing the Monty Python with Needles. I brought me down pretty quickly, and I was able to hold around 50% armor for a while. This went on, for maybe 5 or 6 more minutes, until we reached the wall of the system. I just suddenly stopped, and he kept going, and began firing Blaze and rockets at me. I blasted away quikcly, but sustained major damage. I went down to 15% armor. Now with this guy, I learned that you either fight him to the death, or give it up. As soon as I would stop firing on him, he began to recharge 1% at a time, a little quick than a % a second. He had lots of shields too, so this was bad. When we hit the wall, he was at 5% shields, and had just run out of missiles. I took a moment to recuperate, and went back in. I got him to Shields Down for 15 seconds at the most. He kepts going back to 0%, and because I was in the danger zone on my armor, I didn't want to risk staying within his rocket and blaze range. However I still had to hit him. I kept him lingering at shields down/0%, and he kept taking me lower, and lower and lower. He got me to around 3% armor or so, launched a rocket, it made direct contact, and BOOM! I'm space dust.
Perhaps Hector was incharge of weapons at the time...
The UES Pareen is part of the Reign of the UE plug I believe and it does indeed have a destroyer bay. someone back me up here...
------------------ Akula, don't even think about it, I have Larry in my pocket and I know how to use him! Ubermann~Your friendly advice guy This hoof and mouth disease has really upped US security. Now the US isn't taking any of Europe's bull. Great game, gotta check it out!(url="http://"http://pub29.ezboard.com/b20")--20--(/url)
LOL! That's not one, not two, not even three or four, but FIVE stories in a row with no interruptions!!! gives Stud a gift certificate for free Sallian Brandy for the next week You deserve it for all them fights and stuff, but I've only been seeing the same old things, doing the same old stuff, nothing but the same (well, except for the fact that I'm 3-4 systems away from conquering one half of all Miranu core worlds). And BTW, has anyone other than me been playing EVO with Dark Station plug? I'm using it right now, and I've got a CW with 4 Flak Turrets, 6 Sideswiper Launchers (I continually hafta go back to Dark Station because of the way those things drain my ammo supply) tons of Sideswipers, and that's about it! And if you're wondering what those 2 outfits are (for those of you who haven't played it) the Flak Turrets are like MUCH MUCH shorter-ranged, less powerful DMG's, but can be nearly as deadly when you have four like me. I find them useful against anything fast and weak, e.g. Azdaras, Kraits, CF's, even V. Interceptors, since they deal good damage while at the same time keeps the fighters a good distance away. The downside? The explosions made when Flak bullets hit enemies can hurt you as well in close combat.
------------------ Voinian bad bad ugly ugly Neutron bad bad ouch ouch Rocket bad bad hurt hurt ouch ouch
ESPilot - Hah! Thanks! Yes I am using the Dark Station plug, but I can't really buy anything for my Crescent Fighter. :frown: I keep it in because it seems to be bug-free, and doesn't upset the balance of the Universe!
Ubermann - But, I don't have ROTUE installed...
Hmm I would have guessed it would be from a plugin too - and probably would have guessed that one because it has similar goings-on. I've never seen U.E.S Paaren before though.. sounds a fun ship, but I'm surprised about how much damage you say it and its destroyers took!
------------------
MartiNZ - Same here. I thought UE Ships were GOOD.
I have another Voinian related story. This is the attack on Gualon Station.
I picked up d'Erlon's Marines, and went to attack Gualon Station. I knew this would be a big, long, hard, challenging, and adrenaline-pumped battle. When I got there, 2 Frigates and a Cruiser were already there. The fleet jumped in, adding another 4 Frigates, and another Cruiser. I went after the 8 Heavy Fighters, and the lone Interceptor, whom I laughed at. When the flying rocks were dead, I saw the main fleet was majorly stacked. A lone Cruiser was flying about, so I went after him. It took a while, but I used the same tactics, and blew him up. I went after the second Cruiser, did the same thing. I then went after all the Frigates, avoiding this and that and rockets and neutrons. I can't really explain much of anything, because it was all the same. I'd kill one Frigate, another one would come and replace it in the stack of 4 or 5. I kept fighting and fighting and FIGHTING. I even fought for 10 minutes straight when we all reached the north-west border of the system. I ended up killing maybe 10 Frigates, 8 Fighters, and 2 Cruisers before this idiot Frigate decided to use well-placed rockets, and blew my armor away. I was at a major disadvantage because I didn't have the ability to circle around the guys, because of the wall. This battle lasted that past hour and a half. No joke. It's 11PM EST here, I started around 9:20 or so. Maybe earlier. Ugh, I'm surprised my phasers didn't overheat. I was firing constantly except for maybe a TOTAL of 10 minutes or less. I shall strike again at the hated Voinians! I will wipe out their entire fleet! I will....falls over into sleep
Hehe, sounds a sad end :)! But this obviously means you're very close to the end of the 'crew of one challenge.' And it sounds like it has got you a bit inspired - you may just have to try with a krait! And I might be able to give it a go in a few weeks, as apparently there are ways around the 30 day trial with Executor, and I have mid-semester break from university before long :). Just hopefully my sore hand will feel better by then - it's EVO that made it hurt in the first place :frown:!
(This message has been edited by MartiNZ (edited 03-23-2001).)
Yes, I am near the end. However StarStrafer finished first.
If I beat the UE Missions, that leaves one major battle left: The NPD Battle.
What battle is that? Well, the scientists tell you that some Renegades are too curous for bribes, and you must go to the <i forget what system> system, and defeat all the Renegades. Sounds easy right? HAH!
You must fight I think it's 6 or 7 Crescent Warships, and their fighter counterparts.
Other than that, I'm just about done. Sure I'll help out the Zachit, but thats not part of the 3. I'll do that after the NPD.
Hmm....I've never heard of this NPD Battle...Sounds like A CHALLENGE!! Something I haven't had in ages.....No stories still, but I AM WORKING ON IT!!
My proudest moment was a very boring one.
I was in a brand new shuttlecraft, with 10,000 credits and a desire to get 10 million and buy a Crescent Warship (this wasn't the first time I'd played).
And as everybody knows, playing again for a second time is frustrating and also more difficult, as conquering the galaxy in one pilot gives you an ego boost, and you think you can do it again - in a Shuttle.
That, however, is besides the point. That ego might have led me to the situation, but using the word "ego" gives the impression that this is going to be a tale of sadness and despair, and overall the "why on earth did I put it on strict?" feeling.
It's not. I won. Won what, you ask?
I was going through the Chorca system, remembering vaguely that a Krait or two sometimes popped up around there. So I scanned around upon entering, but my scan was interrupted when three Kraits wizzed past me. I thought for a second, "oh I'm glad they're going for another trader", until I realised they were actually going for me, but had missed.
There was a moment of extreme panic, followed by an ego boost that made me think I could take them on, followed by a barrage of needle missiles - from a Turncoat and a Helian. Panic came back, but sadly the ego had long since jettisoned on my only escape pod.
I leaped forward, vaguely in the direction of the Helian and away from the Turncoats/ Kraits. Here's the map at this point:
HELIAN
TURNCOAT
KRAIT ME KRAIT
KRAIT
You can see the route I was taking - unless this doesn't come out well, of course. The Helian emptied out it's needles, and the Kraits passed it. I had expected that, and caught one that had left the pack and, amazingly, destroyed it - with my 3 blaze cannons, of course. As everybody knows, a well armed Shuttlecraft has more strength than a Krait.
The other two weren't so friendly, and they packed together. Next map:
HELIAN TURNCOAT
KRAIT KRAIT ME
As you can see, they were closing fast. The Turncoat was firing it's last few needles by know, but some had hit, and my shields were around 10%.
What happened next? I don't entirely know. I can't remember well. I think I whipped the Kraits off me by travelling north, and then they came apart like this:
ME TURNCOAT
KRAIT HELIAN
Things were getting scary. I managed to destroy another Krait quickly, and easily evaded the Turncoat and Helian. The third Krait nearly got me as I travelled right, just above the Turncoat's position. I was down to low armour, and in a Shuttlecraft that's a BAD situation, but I was safe now.
ME
The Helian I destroyed by carefully outcircling it (after recovering my shields to about 75%). The Turncoat, well, at that time a UE Destroyer showed up - late for the dangerous part, but in time for an easy meal.
PS: This may be every so slightly made up, but the basic plot is true. I took on those odds in a Shuttlecraft, but some of how the battle went ahead is made up.
Paladin signs out.
------------------ This is Esponer reincarnated after an accident with a phased beamer and a shipment of Saalian brandy.
Sorry about the faulty maps.
And sorry about the very long story.
