If only there was multiplayer

I know I am going to get flak about this, so I'll say it straight out:

EV:N WILL NOT BE MULTIPLAYER AND NONE OF THE EV SERIES WILL EVER BE

ok, there! I said it! But there is still the feeling of "wouldn't it be great?"
There is no law that keeps me from wishing, or from anyone else from wishing.
Well, I am just opening this topic to let all the other wishers who play EV give us a piece of their minds. Here are some questions for you to chew on:
- How would it work? Would there be trading, or all of it just fighting and plundering?
- Who would you like to fight the most? (We all know about Stud Beefpile's ship! Test yer skills!)
- How would you gain money to buy ships and upgrades? Computer ships and pirates?
- Would you be able to align with certain sides (UE, Vonian, or even your own clan?)
- And finally, any cool ideas that you have IF it was real

I want to hear your responses! I really do! But I don't want to hear about how it is never gonna happen, because you don't need to tell us! We know!

And last of all: If it was real, would you be willing to pay money to play online?
I know I would!

Would I pay money to play EV online? Nah... and you know why? Because it wouldn't be cool. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna be flamed, but EVMP just would not be the same, and therefore, as EV, it wouldn't be cool. Too much stuff would have to be changed for it to even work at all, and even then there would be a lot of stuff that just didn't make sense unless you changed the game so much that it wasn't the same game at all. I am probably the only person who does not think EVMP would be cool.

hey, I can respect your opinion, because a lot of that is true, and it might just degenerate into the whoever has the biggest ship wins scenario, but that trap could be avoided. But you honestly don't think it could be made into something great? I mean look at its competition: Subspace. Not much competition there! what would it take, in your mind, to be good?

I think you should be able to control planets and give fleets orders over long
distances.

If there was a multiplayer.

EVMP was already considered by MadFax7 and is being made. It is a plug-in for Ares and is going to be called Ares:Override. Check out the EV Developers board.

Not to mention quite a few ways of doing it were discussed over there (in fact sebek is almost done with it). Check it out. Because while they won't actually be Ambrosia offerings, they will be EVMP :p.

Ahhhhhh.....
The thought of a EV:MP makes my heart leap with joy, except that it's simply a fantasy that will never be. And yes we all know about yourk ship Stud, but wouldn't it be sweet? Players could form guilds, and have enormus battles in which bets were placed on the winner, trading and bartering, wouldn't it be cool if, for example, the UE government was actually run by a person instead of a linear computer code? And all the people in the game had some type of significance in the grand scheme? That would be great, with Admiral McPherson being a real person, and everything being organic instead of a computer code. But, that is a long way into the future, if it is even there at all. Oh well, too bad, EVO is still the greatest game ever, as it always will be.
