I suspect that if a position becomes available, it will be announced. But it's quite possible there are already replacements in mind. Generally, it's not something you can just fill out an application for.

Hmm... interesting topic. Actually, this is a good question. How does one become a moderator? I am not asking 'cuz I want to be one (I don't have much interest in being a mod, but I'd accept if I was offered a position), I just want to know what makes a member get chosen, and the process of becoming one. Please don't answer that one has to get the head of a mod...

People who have high Karma and have been around for a long time probablly have the best chances of becoming moderators.
