Some people may disagree with me, but the Lazira is an incredible ship if you upgrade it just right. 3 turrets, 4 shield enhancers, Dospect armor, hunter missles, the works. Just wanted to hear any stories about ships people have maxed out and have made incredibly powerful...
By the way, I am assuming most of you have played Marathon 2, and if you have, have you noticed that the Voinian Frigate looks a lot like the P'for (excuse my spelling) war ships? Just thought that was weird, maybe it is just me...

I agree with you 100%. The Lazira is often (too often) underestimated in terms of combat skills. I think the Arada is definately a pick, also. It can be a superb, swift, and reliable cargo craft, or a deadly, sleak, and menacing light warship. Never mess with a modified Arada.

True, however, a maxed out Voinian Cruiser with 6 Phase Turrets can turn it into the first Lazira ever made of sour cream within 8 seconds. But still, it is a nice ship, though I never had the chance to really use it. I upgraded from an Arada to a CW, and totally missed the Lazira.

The ship that I use for most of the game is an Arada. Properly upgraded it can take out any ship in the game. The thing that I like about it is its flexibility. When I first buy it, I'll equip it to basically defend itself while making courier runs. Later on, I can pile on the weapons and turn it into an awesome Bounty Hunting ship. Laziras are nice, but the Arada is faster, more upgradeable, and in my opinion pretty nice looking too.

The richest ship (in terms of modifications) that I had was a Crescent Warship. I really liked that ship, but now that AIs can use afterburners, the CW is just too slow. My modifications were as follows: 1 Essentials - 2 fuel tanks, density scn, IFF decoder, escape pod, afterburner, sensor upgd, 2 fuel scoops, all three engine upgrades and the ECM. 2 Igazra plasma siphon (though I didn't really use it) 3 Zidagar ECM (love it) and the space upgd 4 UE cloak and needle jammer 5 Azdgari normal and experimental shield generator. As well as the extra RCS upgd. 6 Dospect armor 7 4 phase turrets 8 6 cargo expansions 9 Nebula penetration device
In terms of why I got 6 cargo expansions rather than rockets (for fighting the Voinians) was that I've always been more of a "primary" player (except in EV where I would sometimes use torpedoes), and the extra cargo space was a nice luxury. I really did like that ship.
As I've posted in the "ship poll for Override" topic, I also favor the Arada, Lazira and Igazra. Currently I have a well outfitted Lazira. P.S. I got all the Strand upgrades by using the Triple agent plug.
