Those monks on Omm...

Does anybody know what they're all about? The only thing I found out about them from EVO was that they're a secretive religious order, and that they wear black robes. I want to use them in (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/skyblade500/omega_conspiracy")The Omega Conspiracy(/url), but I don't want to use them if there's something that I missed and my storyline would go against Override canon...

As far as I know, they are just a bunch of religious dudes who went off to Omm to live life in tranquility (which didn't work out with all those Renegades hovering around their planet). One hypothosis is that they went to Omm to escape the UE and the Omega Group (is that the right name, Skyblade?).

Yeah, that's basically all that I know about them. Although I've got a lot of new plot ideas (for Part 3, that is), and I think that a secretive, cult-like religious order would fit in nicely (I'm trying to tie in as much of the Override scenario as possible in my story). Thanks for the input.

Oh, and it's 'Task Force Omega,' actually, but it's good to see that someone remembers a part of my story. 🙂

Sorry, I knew it had something to do with the word "Omega".

Yes, well, lots of things in my story have to do with the word 'omega.' 😉

The only thing I know about the Omm monks that hasn't been mentioned here is that Crassworms sell for high there. The only other place to buy them is at Pax station, and in the cargo info. box, they're called Vonian Crassworms. Some kind of a connection, maybe?

Capatilism- You can't get ahead without stepping on people. In fact, it's pretty hard to stay in the same place without stepping on a few people.

I bet you can. As far as I know, there just a race that's very secretive.

EGADS I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT!! MAYBE THE MONKS ACTUALLY WENT TO OMM TO ESCAPE THE UE AND MAKE TRADE WITH THE VOINIANS!!!!!!!!!!

If you knew my precise record on my game you'd think I'm an Azdgari, but I'm not. Just the commander of a small mercenary fleet that favors the Azdgari. Ships include: 3 Aradas including my own, 2 CW's, and 2 Laziras.

In Hard Sell , the third Splinter Group story, the traders have dealings with a faction of monks called the Order of St. Leroy, who have a penchant for industrial action. The only other significant piece of background data concerns a business called Ommway, which operates from the same planet.

Faction, not race. Those monks are human.

Don't forget they "conduct their business" outside the spaceport. According to the planet description anyway.

They are part of the best trade route you can sell crasworms at high prices and buy meds for low. 🙂

Well, I'm not to sure but isn't Omm also the planet the spy from the Huron series of missions escaped to? I remember it said a silent robed monk handed (the-player's-name) hastily written notes and didn't respond and walked away when (the-player's-name) asked about the well-being of the agent.

Another thing -- are these union monks or something? I've never known a religious order to go on strike. And even if they did, I'd think that some of the brothers would be working as 'scabs' or something like that. That whole church of Omm seems a little like those other cults where the leader takes your money. Perhaps they came to the system via Hale-Bopp...

Since no one seems to know very much about the Omm monks, I have decided that I am going to use them in '(url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/skyblade500/omega_conspiracy/index.html")The Omega Conspiracy(/url).'

Yes, it is that same planet. It was actually that mission gave me the idea of using them.

I've only read one of the 'Splinter Group' stories -- I saw one of them on (url="http://"http://www.grybs.com/evo/stories.html")grybs.com(/url) a long while ago. I found the third one -- 'Hard Sell' -- at Cerberus Station, but I can't find the second story... Where is it?
