Needed Webboard Change (Admins?)

There's one thing about these webboards that's extremely annoying at times. It's the fact that when clicking a multi-page topic, it's always the first page that will load rather than the last one. This doesn't make much sense -- a multi-page topic usually doesn't build up in a day, so one can assume that the user has already read the older posts, and that he's interested in the most recent additions.

Similarly, when you send off a post, you'll return the the first page, although you'll want to have a look at your new post on the last page.

Is it possible to modify the webboard codes to display the last page by default? If so, please do so.

I'm sure andrew has reasons beyond our mortal comprehension for not doing so.

And all you gotta do is click the little numbers that show up at the top before everything else does. Not that hard. No change is needed, in my opinion.

You have to click the name of the person who last posted (It's to the right of the topic name).

Oh. OK. I assumed that would open a mailto window or a link to the person's info page.

As for clicking on the little numbers: That's what I do now, but if the connection is bad (e.g. at school), even loading the first page up to the little numbers takes annoyingly long.

I agree that the problem is not world-shaking, but it would surely be easy to implement, and worth it.

Aside from shortcuts such as clicking the person's name, i host the LBS series, a 600 post webstory on the board. I bookmark the story rather than go through the board and updating a bookmark of each page when another one arises isn't very practical. I'd have to say i would support this change.

It is not fear that will destroy you, but the absence of it.

I remember when the TaS string was up there were some 7 or 8 pages, and even though Jude started an new string with the same story, it was a pain in the @$$ to keep clicking little numbers. I will also have to support the change, and for those of you who don't think it matters, I believe that it will have few, if any, negative effects.
