Correct. Intimidator is heading to Borb along with Roostersw. However, Captain Carnotaur is still in the Voinia system watching Oasa while being cloaked. Please remember to make the distinction.

Suddenly, the A.E.S. Intimidator hails the Saratoga. Intimidator reports that his ship is running on reserve power, and that his crew needs a rest. Intimidator also reports that his fleet must be repaired and rearmed before going into battle. He has lost 3 warships, leaving him with 7 Azdgari warships. He also lost 5 Aradas, and is left with 7. A third of his remaining fleet is running on emergency power, and many need more fuel and repair to their hulls, which have multiple hull breaches.

Roostersw agrees for a short stop and they land on newly Independent Huron. As Intimidators fleet refuels, makes repairs, and rearms, Intimidator himself goes to Roostersw. He has a plan.

"Obviously Oasa is interested in the destruction of the Fuzzes. If we can make a bunch of fake fuzzes, or gather togather a bunch of real fuzzes, we can lure him to a certain location which we can surround. I suggest in the area of space that separates the Miranu from the UE. There, reinforcements cannot arrive soon enough. Sound good?"

Roostersw replies...

To Escape Velocity: Nova and Beyond!

Oasa, after spending two days recuperating from battle and playing with those oh-so-lovable fuzzes, finally begins to set his master plan in action. He sends a hypermail to Fleet Admiral Borb himself, requesting a private audience. Within an hour, a meeting has been set up in Building 3547, Floor -42, Room 18.

"Comrade, I have brought you here today to announce the culmination of twenty years of research by our esteemed physics team. With the technology they have developed, the UE will surely be crushed. Furthermore --

"Oasa, cut to the chase. What is so momentous?"

"Well, as you know, Admiral Borb, for the past six months I have cut a swath of destruction through UE and Miranu space, crippling several of their best fleets. Pax was destroyed. And Ursla was razed to the ground. But all this was not just for the sake of the carnage we all love: it was for Fuzzes."

"Fuzzes? But those are just fuzzy animals!"

"Exactly as the rest of the galaxy thinks, comrade. But twenty years ago, one of our top scientists discovered that Fuzzes, when ground up and mixed with deuterium feul, octuple the thrust power of FTL drives! One year ago, the same physicist perfected a hyperspace drive which could handle such power. It was up to me to secure the necessary fuel."

"But you've brought but eighty fuzzes!"

"And eradicated all others in the galaxy. Fuzzes reproduce at an astronical rate, we shall soon have a colonies of billions of fuzzes!"

"At any rate, let me explain my plan. If we upgrade the engines from the Dreadnaught project, and secure them to an uninhabited planet, we would be able to field a fortress the size of a planet! "

A quiet silence overcame the admiral, his mind barely able to comprehend the strategical implications of this development. Borb suddenly asked, "where would we be able to find enough deuterium to power an engine this huge? Our fuelling stations can provide only so much."

"You underestimate me, Admiral. The Miranu planet of Zanat will provide all the fuel we'll need. It should not be too difficult to capture. And I think Cthlus will be a suitable platform for our superweapon. Give me a month after we secure the Zanati Refinery to have a fully functional planetary weapons platform. And let no one know of this plan until it is too late to stop!"

Oasa left his meeting promised anything he would need for his grand project - ships, men, and planets...

note - I have not yet left the ground on Voina so that cloaked fleet can't take me out, and I think Borb can be trusted with my master plan...

Oasa, i will accept that we cannot know of your plans, however my character will deduce the need for deuterium and it's most possible allocation point.

Rooster replies: "Our Science officer has told us of past projects to use a molecular grouping called Beta Pi 63 grouping with deuterium compounds for enhanced afterburning effects. Closer examination of the fuzzes anatomy shows their 9 chambered hearts pump blood containing this element, which was passed along from their ancestors who ate a plant now extinct from which the molecules solely resided. They may be after deuterium. I have a battle idea, in which i will contain secret for now. In the effect that the enemy succeeds, an antigen can be made to disassemble Beta Pi 63 with an original and pure sample of the plant. What historic preservation world might we find such a plant, Buba?"

aw c'mon, it took voinans twenty years to figure this out, you couldn't have noticed in ten seconds. and if you had researched fuzz technology already, wouldn't you have used it?

grrr... how about you just know we'll need lots of fuel so you can defend zanati refinery, but not why.

------------------

Actually, you do make sense. Let's say i only presume there is some connection between the fuzzes and your deuterium.

Buba, we need to move our fleet toward Zanati. It's the only possible location. Rooster, still at the nav station, puts his hands up, clenches his fists, and pulls back sharply and right. The ship pulls out of jumpstream and banks hard right. Rooster quickly lays in a couple of coordinates and reenters the stream toward Zanati. He wonders when he'll see Buba enter the stream next to the fleet...

(Zanat is over 10 jumps from Borb, so alot will have to happen in between now and arrival)

Captain V'roko Shelesh of the Voinan Supply ship "Reduction" was on a routine cargo run to Voina. He was carrying eighty tons of steel to Voina, for the construction of a new statue. His pay would be twenty thousand credits.

As he came out of the jumpstream in Voina, his shields suddenly dropped. Half a second later, his hull was reading multiple breaches. Before his ship was obliterated, he managed to send a message to Borb Station control - "mayd1y hij invisible shi#%*#)@@$.."

Shelesh had crashed into Intimidator's cloaked fleet.

Voinan high command immediately deployed ten heavy fighters on a search and destroy mission. The fighers were outfitted with rudimentary flares, to shoot every so often - hopefully hitting the cloaked ship and finding it.

someone can tell how this search goes...

Rooster continues on his way to Zanati, but contacts his second-in-command, Cmdr. Liam Aeshek, now on Earth. Liam, take the Corocian task force (1 Warship, 12 Azdaras) to Voina and help the Voinians (edited) die! (/edited)

Buba heads to the Ursla shipyard looking over their current stock. Seeing a rather peculier(sp?) looking Crescent Ship in the corner he asks the docking manager about it. "Ahh, I see you have good taste. That is a rather interesting ship indeed, and costly as well. We found it disabled in the Ursla system a few months back, completely outfited and everything! It seems to be a test ship made by either the Zachit or Miranu that never got mass produced. Probably due to the fact that it is so expensive to build. Almost as quick and agile as an Arada but strong like a Warship and lots of space as well. You don't see many of these things around." "How much?" Buba asks, rather straight forward. The manager grins, "25 mill. But for you my good friend, 5 mil." "I'll take it."

Buba's newly christened ship Ursla's Pride rose through the Ursla's atmosphere. He quickly looks at the system map and uses the ID tracker* to find the location of Roosters fleet. "Hmm... Headed for Zanati." said Buba to himself. "I wonder what could be so important there." Deciding to follow Rooster he enters his hyper-travel coordinates for Zanati and heads for the sleeping quarters.

*ID Tracker = A new outfit currently only found in Ursla's Pride since it is the only ship like it. Simply put, it tracks the ID of a ship to give it's location on any galactic map. The only thing is youi have to know the ID of the given ship.

two questions:

why would the UE help the Voinans find a guy from the Strands?

how can you track my ship if you don't have a tracking device implanted on my ship?

------------------

Rooster notices a Corocian signature incoming to the jumpstream. "What the hell is that?" A crescent warship with zachit markings pulls into the stream with the fleet. Rooster recognizes Buba's Corocian writs on the hull, and locks the Ursla's Pride into the fleet and returns to full cruising speed which he had declined from while waiting for Buba. The ships are now in the final jump corridor to Zanati, as are Oasa's.

Oasa: I did not track your ship. I tracked Roosters because I knew his ship ID. I don't know yours so I can't find you.

"As you wish."

With a booming sound the Corocian Alliance's fleet pulled out of the jumpstream in the Zanat system. They had used reserve power to get here in the first place, and now the ships were moving at 23% thrusters toward the refinery. Rooster read the jumpstream through his panel, and saw the Oasans almost to the rim of the Zanat system. He wondered if his ships would be there in time to stop the menace from hijacking the fuel from the station's port...

It is not fear that will destroy you, but the absence of it.

Six Voinan frigates and a cruiser assembled at Vorik. Their target - Outpost Alpha. If the sortie could cause enough damage, the UE would be distracted and unable to send aid to the Miranu at Zanat. So Borb hoped. One by one, the ships entered the jumpstream.

----

Oasa confidently inched his fleet of forty Voinan cruisers around from the dark side of Zanat. Each cruiser had been loaded with five hundred special ops troops, in the event of boarding, or for an attack on the station. Oasa himself now commanded a specially outfitted Cruiser (the Rotting Penguin), all it's weaponry aside from turrets removed, the mass being used for armor. Oasa's ship had 1000 Resedit shields and 10000 armor - a formidable match.

This time, however, Oasa's tactic was different. Let them make the first move. His fleet was expendable. Borb would supply a fresh one if this attack failed. Zanat would still be there. But no move came as Oasa anxiously paced around on his ship's bridge.

----
hehe, two battles going on now...

------------------

A small fleet of 8 Zachit aradas assembled with the Corocians. The zachit were hungry for blood and raced ahead to fight the enemy. Rooster, seeing his only chance and noticing the drives at full power, commands the Aradas under his command and 3 Azdaras left to join the fight. That should keep them busy, Rooster thought. "Full power, nav!" The Graphite blue Igazra's engines burst to life, bring the Saratoga to the head of the fleet and well on the way to the refinery. Then, he contacted the miranu: "Be prepared to drop shields at my mark!" He replied, "but commander--" Rooster yelled "trust me!" The miranu agreed and the fighters (18 assorted Aradas and 3 Azdaras) began to engage the enemy while the warships neared the attack close behind...

It is not fear that will destroy you, but the absence of it.

Oasamostexianu ordered his fleet to shut down engines, and come to a standstill. Five cruisers, in the meantime, would continue at full speed, but without engines (inertia). If the defense did not yield, they would be rammed by 7500 tonnes of Voinan steel. If they did, they would be easy targets (in their disarray) for the 140 heavy fighters launched by the other cruisers...

------------------

Rooster orders two CWs to stop the cruisers, while the fighters continued to engage them. He then ordered the Saratoga and Ursla's Pride to move toward the refinery. In direct proximity, the Saratoga releases the C.F. Vibrance, Rooster's personal Azdara, to move directly in line with the refinery's shields. Miranu Command: "Mark! Drop shields and blow the transfer hatches!" They did so and deuterium poured out into space from the ports from the power core. Rooster smiled as the Azdara's lasers powered and he signaled all ships to max their shields and put on a warsuit. The lasers fired, igniting the deuterium and sequentially, the core. The entire refinery exploded with a visible plasma shockwave. Rooster screamed as his body concealed in warsuit was ripped from the metal of the Azdara as it hit the shockwave. The Pride picked up the suit with injured Rooster and sped to escape. The shockwave hit. The Pride and Saratoga spun, flaming, into the plasma of the wave. Hull breaches, engines destroyed, weapons offline, these were the least of the fleets worries. The wave hit the Oasans as bad, destroying 11 and damaging 6 of the cruisers. Rooster layed on the floor of the Pride as Oasans boarded, mad with rage....

It is not fear that will destroy you, but the absence of it.

Two Voinan cruisers docked with the crippled ship. One thousand special ops troops poured aboard. They were under special orders to kill anyone who was not a përs, and to bring those përses back to the R.P. The remaining cruisers (including the R.P.) remained a safe distance away, in the event rooster decided to self-destruct.

------------------

That's 29 cruisers and the RP you have left.

CONTINUATION: Rooster and Buba are taken through the access port onto the Rotting Penguin. Rooster says: "Wish we had remembered holograms, eh?" Buba snickered at Rooster's remark, despite his impending doom. Brought through the many decks up to operations, Rooster began to think of a plan. Of course, the two were still in warsuits since Oasa wanted them alive and their life support was tied into them. There were 12 bulky Voinian officers escorting them. Rooster then glanced at a map of the ship on a panel, and remembered this design had an intricate web of transfer tubes (similar to star trek jeffries tubes) that ran through the ship. They were used by the Voinians in the event of a boarding. Rooster had a tablet on his belt and typed (upside down) instructions for Buba. Buba glanced down, read, and nodded to Rooster. Both pulled out their Photonlances. Buba attached a retraction unit to one end. Rooster thrust his upward and knocked out an access hatch. Buba then grabbed Rooster, pressed the button to release the suction unit up onto the roof of the transfer tube, and pressed the button again to retract, pulling Rooster with him into the tube. Rooster found an emergency panel, and managed to disable sensors in the tubes before the ship went to code red and shut him out. The two elite Corocians began to crawl through the dreadnought, leaving Oasa to anticipate where they will try to come out in order to escape....

humm... need a solution to this. will post again tomorrow morning.

------------------

Cool, I'm gonna be up til at least midnite. But, if Oasa's out, we can't really continue. If you like, each person can post once more before Oasa's next move. See ya tomorrow!

Even tomorrow we'll still have to wait for all three crucial people to be on (not that carno isn't important, but we can continue on the dreadnought without him), so everybody sign in (and out) so we know when your on or gonna be on. Thanks!
