Hi, I've searched for an answer to this but can't seem to find anything relevant.
On entering certain systems (like Altair) in the Frozen Heart plug, I seem to be obliterated by asteroids.
What is the best way to deal with them?
I tried buying the repulsor beam from Sirius, but that can only deal with one at a time I think and I still got killed pretty quickly.
I guess I could avoid going into those systems, but I think there are probably some mission threads that I won't pick up unless I do learn how to successfully negotiate these wicked asteroids.
Also, what is the green hue around them supposed to be? Shields? A signal of malevolent intent?
Thanks for your help, once again

Jump in, and jump out the second you get a chance!! That odd green cloud is a ingenius little trick.. it's actually the ramming technique!! So you can actually 'fly by' asteriods as long as that green cloud isn't there....

You can also shoot them. Easy way to knock up your combat rating is to just kill the asteroids. They're fairly weak, just one little missile can disable them.

Oh yeah! And you can Monty Python them really easily if you have a fast ship as well!!
When you first enter an asteroid system, immediately turn to the right or left. Use an afterburner if you need to. Asteroid a very unmanuverable when in big numbers. You can easily put enough distance between them to land or hyper out. There is one mission where you have to board a bunch of ships around asteroids. Use the same strategy and board one ship at a time.

Thanks for your tips everybody - it never occurred to me to shoot asteroids (where was I in the 80s??). That seemed to jump my combat rating from Civilian to Legendary in one quick journey.
Excellent advice everybody - thanks
A couple questions about Frozen Heart-
1. I was doing the Devore mission and they told me to land on Devore and they gave me a grid number or something like that. What is that used for? Or am I suppose to figure that out. Also no missions continued after I landed on Devore.
2. Also, can anyone give me a hint about this message. I need to find out where Lalamas is: "I always start at the nexus and check my anagrams to the ends of the earth. RX-Beta"
Any hints would be greatly appretiated. Also I did search this and couldn't find anything; however, I did not try to search on other EV Boards.

1. More info needed! I you just helped them, giving them Red Cross stuff, go to Spica. 2.I think there's a red marker marking it. But, hey! Go to the galactic east. That's where it is.

The feedback energy is just accumulating in the repulsor system. When the power level is high enough, I'll reset the feedback power breaker and dump the energy right into the initiator intake on the engine power systems." "What?!" "Jump-start it," Han said. "I'm going to jumpstart it."

regarding shooting asteroids, one thing i did very early in playing FH was to pop open resedit (presumably ev-edit would work too), and change the asteroid crew from 9999 (!) to 1. that way, your skill level remains at appropriate levels.

1. The grid number and other such things are irrelevant. They just add some spice to the game. The only thing you really need to remember is the pyramid password (No, I won't tell you what it is ;)). The Devore missions continue someplace else. It's been a while since I've played FH, so I don't remember.
2. There is no "Lalamas"! It says check my anagrams to the ends of the Earth. In case you still can't figure it out:
Lalamas = Masalla
