Ballot boxes mission - out of time always!

Hi, in Frozen Heart I've got the ballot boxes mission from Faust in the Reformation system - but there is not enough time to complete the mission. I always miss it by one day.

I got to Carinae by the most direct route, collect the ballot boxes from the derelict Marie Celeste but always arrive back in the Reformation system on the day I was supposed tomhave delivered them - and receive a Mission Failed message.

I have an Artemis ship, upgraded to a top speed of 450 but it still seems to take me 2 days to make a system jump. I've read elsewhere I think that it's not the speed of the ship bu the size of the ship that matters in how long it takes to do a system jump. Does this mean I have to downgrade my Artemis so that I can complete this mission in time? Can I ignore this mission or is it vital to the plot?

I'd rather not downgrade, as you seem to lose money on trade-ins and it took me a while to get my Artemis so nicely rigged.

Any solutions anybody?

Your only choice is to get a decent ship for this job (or almost any, for that matter), like the wanderer.

That's correct, it's the mass of the ship that matters when determining how long your jump time is. You need a light ship with a jump time of one day to complete those missions.

Here's how the masses and times run:

Ships having a mass of 1-99 tons take one day to jump.
Ships having a mass of 100-199 tons take two days to jump.
Ships having a mass of 200+ tons take three days to jump.

Heh, ballot boxes.

How ironic with the current situation... 😉
