I've had a look in the varios EVO files, and came accross a pic that i have no idea what it does, it's named the 'Back Room' it looks like a standard buttom like the Space port bar for example. Anyone who knows what this is please fill me in.
Hmmmmmmm, I saw this once. I don't know what it is though....

I'm all but positive this has been mentioned here at least a few times.

No, Weepul, I don't remember this ever being mentioned... perhaps we should look into this...

I heard once in the early production of the original EV that Ambrosia planned to expand much more on the planetary interface and have much more of the gameplay happen there. I believe the back room button and other unused buttons are from tests of this interface. (purely second-hand info, not guaranteed true)
------------------ It is not fear that will destroy you, but the absence of it.
The back room was originally going to be a place in the bar where you got more dodgy missions, IIRC.

Ah, Washer!
Finally someone who overcomes my intellect of impressive and useless facts! I salute you! Query: How did you come across such info...play a beta?
Also...Alien: Actually Dallas or a suburb?

The reason the back room was never implemented was time and effort constraints I believe, but the pict recourse has been in since Escape Velocity (Not Override) was first released. Maybe this should be put into some FAQ.

Nup, it was on the old discboards a few times. Sorry to disappoint:-)
The other, more likely explanation of 'Back Room' and other unseen buttons is this: Matt Burch put them in to torment amateur hackers like you folks.

I always thought that was an idea that never got done. It would probably be a place to get "non-legal" missions or stuff like that.

mcb didn't put them there to irritate people, he LEFT them there to irritate people. It was going to be a place for dodgy missions.
