Well, this topic has certainly gone astray Not that I'm complaining, mind you. The simple fact is that any capital ship, when outfitted appropriately, can be a game-winner, if the controls are in the hands of a skilled pilot. I was originally just excited about actually capturing the Dreadnought, and was wondering if anyone else had without cheating, and what they did with it... It does make a good escort due to the high number (10) of interceptors it carries, but the ship itself is a little slow sometimes.

I captured a drednought too, but I did it in a vonian cruser using a well placed false ID. The voinian cruser has the largest crew of any ship you can purchace (aprox. 200 more than it's UE counterpart) Sill it took me about 50 tries to capture the sonofayouknowwhat!

Well, first: Thanks for the idea. Read it and tried it: started with helping the voinians a little bit, got myself the big fat UE-Cruiser and some escorts (CW's + Laziras), and took the Dreadnought-mission. Since I was Voinian-friendly, it had the side-effect the UE-Ships turned at me and I had to wait till the Dreadnought finshed them off, then I disabled it, aborted the mission - and had a "fugitive"-status in the whole UE. (Tried it a couple of times, never changed). So, but the D. is soooo slow. Any help there ? You can do whatever you want with that ship in combat, just that it really is slow. What can you do with it you can't do in a properly equipped Lazira? And you can do some things (e.g. Missions) in a Lazira you just can't in the Dreadnought. As you say, it might be the ship for dominating systems, but just going around demanting tribute is a bit boring. If somebody has a plug just for speed .... ?

Actually, I have run into an ai UE cruiser without doing the voinian (yay, i spellt it right) missions.Its the UES Paaren. It hardly ever shows up, though.

Yeah, I realize that only dominating systems is a little boring, but I'd already completed all the mission strings I could find. In my Dreadnought universe, I have dominated every Renegade, Izgadra, Strandless, Independent, Adzgari, and Voinian system completely (i.e., not just one port in the system, but all) except for the planet Voinia. I started that once, but it looks like it will take days to accomplish, so I stopped. My tribute is up around $200,000 per day. I'm waiting to see what happens when I reach the $1,000,000,000 mark (in the display). I guess eventually I'm going to try to dominate the entire galaxy, just to see all those little green circles
I guess that after a while, the EVO universe is limited; hence, the plug-ins, which I'm just beginning to explore.
Try out some of the plugs that contineu crec. missions. In a Dreadnaught upgraded as well as you can you can kill anything in the crecent and most things that arn't without getting your shields down. But Crecent ships go down faster.

It's also EASY to kill a voinian cruiser in an iggy warship. AI on AI, if the iggy warship had blaze or nuteron cannons, I'm not sure who would win.

A non-changed AI Iggy Warship should not be able to win. I don't know though. Mabey somebody could make a plug with an iggy warship and a V Crusier fighting each other and see who wins.

That's probably because the AI is so inferior to any human's piloting skills. :rolleyes:
