you no what would be cool. having your ratings redone for each ship you get.EX-you have a rating of ultimate in a scoutship, but you buy a lazira and your rating is redone. say you go from ultimate to noteworthy. because you got the new ship and you havent made the whole galaxy no you have so they think your still in a scoutship. any other ideas. :)HAVE A NICE DAY

It's the mind that makes the pilot deadly, not the ship. (hence, that would SUCK if ratings were reduced)
and..... you "know" something, but you say "no" to things (drugs, for example)
Enjoy.

That's a bad idea, I know I'd be pissed off if I lost my rating.

The concept is interesting (ship (non-)recognition), but I agree that it would kinda suck to lose combat rating in a new ship, mainly because it has nothing to do with other ships' opinions of the player, only their relative difficulty. I suppose if ships cared about what your rating was when choosing a course of action it may be useful...

Not good indeed. Mind that you could probably get to an ultimate rating in a, say krait or UE-fighter if you go on long enough. That people don't know you doesn't have anything to do with your skill and experience. And what about ship-registration? Say you buy a new ship, you'd have to register that (or the local administration/government) and that would come on a sort of intergalactically available list of registered pilots and their ships. Unregistered ships would be against the law, (just like owing a car with a false license plate) and you'd have to register it asap (first time you dock after the acquiring of the ship). So everytime you dock (or maybe even hail) people would check your status.

This sounds like a pretty interesting idea.... might add a whole new twist, the intergalactic police force

1- I think this is on the wrong board, should be in the EV3 board as it won't be be done in EVO; 2- Losing combat rating is a bad idea, at least for me; 3- Unregistered ships, not bad.

As we think of a weapon as dangerous and the pilot because some people have no brains. Most people still think that a weapon/ship is dangerous and not the pilot that is dangersous unless you know about htis but a degrading of Combat Rating when buying a new ship is accurate and should be done. Even though it would suck.
