Oh no ... another request

I have been watching these requests going by a couple years now, and I said I would not bother the Authors with one. I guess I broke down.

Please support joysticks, support the game sprockets! Every modern Mac game should do this.

I'll stop now.

Will

As far as I know, joysticks are actually supported, but because of all the commands that are used in EV and EVO, some use of the keyboard is still neccessary.

Not if you have a very "multi-buttoned joy-stick"!

What kinda joystick would support over 20 different key-commands? Maybe the flight-simulator joysticks that have over 50 keys but no-one else and the flight-joysticks can be up to $800. Not everyone on this board can afford it.

I used a combination of joystick and keyboard. Most of the flight controls I used with the joystick. I don't think that EV or EVO support the newer USB joysticks that require Input Sprockets. At least I didn't get mine to work (Logitech Wingman). Keyboard flying is a big step down both in "feel" and functionality. Joysticks are setup to allow using weapons while maneuvering.

Can't have a 21st century Mac "flight" game without joysticks and Input Sprockets !!! Way uncool.
