How many people here have captured a V.Dreadnaught,cause I'm one of them. I captured a V.Cruiser and boarded it.simple.It was a 9% chance of capturing it when i boardered it. If any of u out there have caught one,post,post,post!!!Tell me how u caught it.
Anyway,everyone say's it's crappy but it's not.Give it an engine & thrust upgrade and it should make up for the lost speed.Plus it's superior fire power (5 turrets and 3 cannons,I think?) and it's amazing armour (the shields are quite good if u add 4 sheild enhancers aswell) make's it nearly indistructable.
So......post in what u think of the V.Dreadnaught.

Hey Alien, have you bought the Enhanced Dreadnaught from ROTV2? It can(Properly upgraded) take down a UE Destroyer in about 2 SECONDS.

Whitch next mission? I got one called "An Odd Ocurrence" And I don't know where to go next. It doesn't even have a description!

You rename Reign of the Voinians to Reign I of the Voinians. Then you have to go to mestor and press F2 to "land" in knox's atmosphere then you go to the Ariane system, kill all the UEs, land at New Voinia and your done. If that doesn't work, download one of the combined plugs with both versions in it. Try to get the one with "Magma" allowed. Then get magma. IT ROCKS!!! You HAVE to get the Dreadnaught as soon as you can. It is AWESOME!!! My Dreadnaught has twelve neutron turrets, three phase turrets and three neutron cannons. It can take down a UE Crusier in less than 10 seconds.

I caught it once, using a fleet of purchased Voinian Cruisers. I'd buy a Cruiser, go capture an Arada or something, move into it, then trade the Arada in for another VC, etc. Then I killed the Dreadnaught over and over against until I finally got a successful capture. When I succeeded, I think my chance was 14% or something like that.
BTW, I hated it to fly it, mainly due to the outfit loss. It made a scary- looking escort, though. Terrified the hell out of half the crescent.

you guys have to be using some plug or are lying like hell, cuz when i disable the dreadnought and try to board it, it says that i cant board the ship, EVERY TIME

You have to abort the "Destroy the Dreadnaught" mission to be able to board it.
you don't have to cancel the mission or destroy the dreadnought

He's probobly using the "Superships" plug. Though I'm not sure. I tryed to run it, once. I swept all voinian space and I never saw a Dreadnaught. I also swept all UE space and never saw a UE Crusier.
I thought that you could board it on the original 'observation' mission, but not on the 'destroy' one. Get into the system then abort the mission sounds like a good ploy though. Can't speak with any authority since it always seemed too slow for me to be bothered. Modify the bügger all you want, I'll still take it out with my upgraded Azdara :).
It may take me a while, though.
It isn't a good idea to abort the "Destroy" mission, though. I did once. I wasn't allowed to land for a week. Real time, not game time.

No, I wasn't using any plugs/cheats. You can board mission ships by aborting the mission after the ship appears (but before you disable and attempt to board.) It's the same technique that people use to get the Enhanced Arada in the final Azdgari mission.
You can do it with either the "real" dreadnaught (destroy mission) or the prototype (observe mission). (It's the same ship.)
In theory, you could build up a whole fleet of dreadnaughts this way, although I haven't had the patience to try that. And yes, there are serious legal-status consequences to aborting missions.

In the readme for the superships plug I said you had to be using version 1.0. 2 of evo
