Just finished last night, and wanted to thank Ambrosia for a very fun game, and all the posters and responders here for some helpful hints. (For those interested, level 23, 169 HP, AC 116 or so when carrying the dwarven runic sword and a lilith shield.)
Since both of my kids (ages 8 and 12) are also playing and enjoying PoG, I thought I would remark on two things that bothered me (only a little bit).
Except for the "storyboard" scenes at the beginning and end, the NPCs' dialogs often read as though they were written by someone who is not a native English speaker --- no insult meant, just a little jarring. I could offer to proofread, but I do have a day job.
And really (Possible Spoiler), the "reward" you get at the end? Sounds to me like Queenie wants to get you out of the kingdom, 'cause you're more popular than she is. After all that h acking and slaying (and the intestinal upset from drinking all those healing potions), I figure a month or so at the Pink Termite Resort, getting swimming lessons from that cute instructor.

Hehe. The spelling is pretty bad. Otherwise good game. I just beat it too.

Yeah, the spelling really jarred me too.....from what I've seen of it so far (I'm waiting for my CD to arrive before I can play the whole game) the spelling has been bad enough to ruin some of the atmosphere and such for me...I sincerely hope that this will be addressed in the 1.0.1 patch or at the worst another patch in the works.
I'm a student with some spare time, and I'm pretty good at proofreading. If I can do something to help my beloved Ambrosia...

No there is not but a plugin may be made in the future that will let you out.

Beenox, the group that created Pillars of Garendall, is located in Montréal, so it's quite possible that the text you're reading was written by someone whose first language is French.

If you have the map from the 1st level of the learning tree chest, you can find dernath much more easily. Each square is 1 area. If you look at the flag that says Fantrima, youll notice that 1 square up and 2 squares right is a red dot. That is a tunnel called Dernath tunnel.( or something like that) Two squares below that is Dernath. From the town of Fantrima, go 2 areas north, 2 areas east, and 3 areas south to find Dernath.

1-So if I go put the shield in his toe, I can't finish the other quest I still have? I am patiently waiting for my CD so I can see the extras on it! The only thing I can't beat now is a sea giant, but I only have a little less than a million to go to the next experience level!(Marksmanship-14, speed-10, all else 50 to 59, HP-160,damage-21-48(+48)runic sword, lilith shield, armor-130) 2-How much does your vitality affect how much your health points go up each time? 3-Where is the best place to start to get to the tunnel north of the Gwyden Camp one? It's the only one I have not been able to find. Mike

Our first language is French indeed but please, we are located in Quebec City, not Montreal.

1. yes, but just make a copy of your character and set the copy aside, then finish the game. Then if you want to finish other quests, just use the copy of your character. 2. Vitality is your health points. Potions/elixir's of vitality and the magic blue mushroom give you bonus points that will add to the HP points you gain when you go up in experience. Hope this makes sense to you. 3.If you are talking about the Northern Territory Tunnel it's a couple of screens east of the crypt you entered to get into Garendall.

wheres the blue mushroom?

Hey i was wondering before i get the game , about how many hours of gameplay did you guys put in? 5, 10, 50?
Pls let me know , a long game is important to me.
Thanks
To answer Gimli, Waterfall cave is 2 screens north of the North Gidolan tunnel entrance on the west side of the screen. Walk into the waterfall from the east side. (got this from another thread). To answer Q_Q, I played about 2 weeks before finishing, anywhere from 1 to 7-8 hours DAILY! (My wife was VERY patient with me letting me do this!) I am going to start again with one of the 4 earlier versions of my guy and see if I can get good enough to kick some sea giant a**! To CRH, thanks for the info on that tunnel. BTW, finally finished(HP-160,armor-130 w/runic sword and lilith shield, crown of stone, boots of lightning, elven full plate(which I had to pay for because I didn't know it was available for the finding). Marksmanship-14, speed-10, all else 50-59, heldan hat, bow of destruction for long range killing. 'Nuff rambling. Hope this helps you guys. Mike
