Clanlord and Online EV

You folks who pine away for multiplayer online EV (which we at Ambrosia agree would be cool) -- what do you think of Clanlord, the persistent world RPG from Delta Tao?

I'm curious if it appeals to you, and if so, what part of it appeals to you?

If not, what don't you like about it?

That depends....where can I find it?

To Welch: Yeah, Clan Lord's okay, and I enjoy it, though not for the same reasons that I play EV. Clan Lord has a huge emphasis on community; in factm, the point of the game seems to be to provide a huge community, complete with things like jury duty. However, this can get boring after a while, and the replay value isn't the greatest, So.... Clan Lord is okay, but kind of mediocre. EV, on the other hand, I enjoy for it's replayability, completely changeable universe, interesting missions (which Clan Lord lacks, at least the start), and it's open-endedness (is that even a word?).

To everyone that doesn't know what Clan Lord is: It's a massively multiplayer RPG, sort of like Ultima Online. The emphasis in the game is on cummunity, not competition, and most people just wander around and chat. It's not bad, but not something I think the average EV fan would enjoy that much. However, if you like RPGs and have a reasonably fast internet connection, by all means check it out.

Ive used Clan Lords a fair time now and it wouldnt be so good for EV...EV isnt just for Clan Lords, they dont fit..

Well I've been on Clan Lord for 1.5 years now and love the game. I've made friends, gone on adventures etc... Like all games Clan Lord has it's draw backs. Things get repititive after awhile like all games. Hey! How many Renegade Helians have you killed? It's very different from EVO and you have to "change" your mindset when you play. Clan Lord can be found at:
(url="http://"http://www.deltatao.com/clanlord/")http://www.deltatao.com/clanlord/(/url)

You can download the game at: (url="http://"http://www.deltatao.com/clanlord/welcome.html")http://www.deltatao....rd/welcome.html(/url)

Once you download the game you can select one of their Agratis demo characters and go into the demo area to get a sense of feel of the game.

The only major drawback about Clan Lord is that compared to EVO it is much more expensive. The is the purchase price of the game. Extra characters are $10 and there is a monthly $10 fee for server maintainence.
