------------------ Well, I guess I beat uplink. Completed every storylin mission, both sides. Completed both special missions. Reached TERMINAL. Completed every type of hacking mission. So if you need any help, post and i'll be glad to reply

103: you post here a second time to keep it from falling too far back.
-when you see a blinking red light on your computer, and franticly type cd usr run faith -when you have nightmares of a black screen reading: We have recently been informed by a major coperation, that you have been caught hacking into one of their systems. Because of this we have been forced to disavow all knowledge of blah blah blah... -wow, when you can recite that much of the game loss screen from memory (This is also an indication that you need to be more careful when you delete your logs)

Ooops, sorry, I didn't see that there was a second page. (Do'oh!)
- You rase this topic from the dead and hope for the best.

When your partner serves your meals in the computer room
-You use OSX utilities to trace unknown e-mails. -you use UNIX to finger the traced e-mail -you understand what those two lines mean -when you see 127.0.0.1 in a trace and think wow that's weird -when you Google for the real hacking tools -you start using terminal to do things on your mac because its easier
(I've done all those things)

115. When the computer you used to play Uplink on is no longer available for your use, but when someone in the same building as you is getting the computer of your dreams they tell you and you say, "Awesome, good for you, uh, do you suppose I could use your computer for something when you aren't using it? It's just this little game I play called Uplink."
This happened to me today, only those weren't my exact words.
------------------ In a world without walls or fences, what use do we have for Windows or Gates? Doesn't "expecting the unexpected" make the unexpected expected?
1110100: You don't understand the numbers used in this topic, and ask for someone in the Help in the way board to translate into binary, as you don't know anything about life outside computers. 1311: You realise that Uplink uses the quad numbering system, and immediately switch to it for your next reason.

I just got the game but lemme take a whack at it.
1. You hold a little party for yourself (yay ice cream) when you manage to crack a big system.* 2. After praising your gateway's godliness you pet your macintosh so it doesen't get jealous.* 3. When covering your tracks you begin to use your log modifier to leave obscene messages to whoever traces you.* 4. You get bored with missions so you start sending random people to jail (my preferred convictions are treason and murder), and crashing small corporation's systems repeatedly just for kicks.* 5. You look yourself up in the academic database and put GOD under qualifications* 6. You hack a bank and steal one credit from someone's account.*
*Done
What is your problem?
You gravedig a topic You number your items starting again from 1 They aren't even funny

Welcome to the boards, by the way. Don't gravedig.
Remember that the people you're talking to are human beings whose culture, language, and humor have different points of reference from your own. Remember that date formats, measurements, and idioms may not travel well. Be especially careful with sarcasm.
BAM! and it dosn't count as gravedigging. This is a story topic.
