Tech specs

Does anyone know what the tech specs on uplink for the mac will be? I played the demo version on my work pc and the game rocks. I have a 500 mhz dual usb ibook that only had 8 megs of video ram. I maxed the ram to 640 megs...so I hope that'll be good enough. Can't afford a new mac just yet...so I gotta make the best of this one.

------------------

I'm guessing that will probably be enough, it's more than what I have on my old iMac, and I'm assuming that Uplink will run fine on it.

I'd say that you should be fine. From all that I've heard, the PC version of Uplink had very low system requirements. Here are the requirements for the pc version of Uplink. As you can see, they're not very specific of anything besides OpenGL so you should be safe with the Mac version too on a 500 mhz g3.

"System Requirements

The Uplink CD comes with both the Windows and Linux versions. If you have any version of Windows from Win95 onwards you will be ok. Uplink uses openGL for graphics which is now installed as standard on all Windows systems. In addition, you will need around 20 megs hard disk space for installation."

------------------

Basic System Requirements for Uplink will be announced as soon as they are determined.

I'm just hoping it'll run on 8.1 so I don't need to buy a new Trinity 1686a gateway. 😛 (The best all-around gateway money can buy, from the Linux demo. Cost:~120K)

Hehehe. 😄

As for real-world system specs, I don't think they'll be all that high.
