Anyways, I've got 2 Wasteland stars, 2 Volcano stars and 1 Ice Caves star.

One ice caves star is near the beginning (coming from the factory), at the bottom left of the first big cavern. You need to nuke the icicles with a red gun, and the switch to turn off the door is in the first boss area. The other is behind three doors that are deactivated by blue-glowing snowflakes scattered about the level. One is in the area unlocked by entering from the Forest, another is in a nook in the first big cavern, and the third is (I think, I can never remember) near the missile upgrade.
Forest: You get one star for beating the race, and another is in a brown paper bag zone to the north.
Factory: You get one for bouncing super pellets off a wall to hit a switch; I forget exactly how to get there but it's through the mini-boss area. The second is near the middle, down a long, straight corridor with two pushers in it. There's a fair amount of back and forth hitting switches in that one if I recall correctly.
