Intel Developer's Tool for EVN?

I just got a new Intel iMac since my G5 is dying. Since I can no longer use ResEdit and the NovaTools, I was wondering what plug-in maker/modifier I should use now. Anyone know which works/runs best on an Intel Mac, or is easiest to use? Note that I have zero experience with any plug-in editor other than ResEdit with NovaTools installed. Also, I have little interest at this time with creating/modifying graphics in the plugs I make (though that could change).

EVN runs fine for me on Intel OSX, though the loading is slower than on my old G5, even though the processor is faster. I figure that is because it is running in Rosetta (although, there is nothing that says it is running in Rosetta, and I actually know very little about Rosetta, since this is my first Intel Ma, and I got it only about 2 weeks ago.).

I saw the post about Mission Computer 3.3.3 being released, and saw on the webpage linked there that it might work on Intel Macs. I would have tried it, except I "don't have permission to view" the download link.

Thanks.

I've never heard of anyone having problems with MC on Intel Macs, and it isn't hard to learn to use, especially if you already know how to use ResEdit. I too can't see the download right now, though. PM David Arthur about it or wait a day or two and see if it's still broken.

P.S. By "know how to use ResEdit," I hope you mean with NovaTools. Because I have absolutely no idea how do use it without that.

The MissionComputer download is hosted through the add-ons directory, which seems to be non-functional at the moment; anyone who’s trying to get it in the meantime can download either the Mac OS X version or the Mac OS 9 version from a temporary archive on my site.

The current version of MissionComputer isn’t Intel-native — version 4.0 will be — but I’ve been told it runs without difficulty through the Rosetta layer.

MissionComputer is even more specific to the needs of the Escape Velocity games than NovaTools, so you shouldn’t have a problem.

I found a file mirror of all the stuff ever made for Nova here. It has Mission Computer listed there under the utilities section.

The Intel transition is the very reason I've worked on Rezilla as a replacement for ResEdit. The lastest version I released can be downloaded here. Right now the focus it's more a general-purpose resource editor which can be used for Nova plug-in editing (use the templates of Nova resources I specially made for Rezilla), to which plugin editors really specialised will be added, like NovaTools was to ResEdit. Also, it is less mature, and is not an official release of Rezilla anyway so it is still a bit experimental (but hey, if no one uses it, it'll always be experimental; I sure enough use it all the time, though more for read-only access than actual editing). Unfortunately, due to a dependency, it is not Intel-native yet.

Wow, that site has way more than EVN stuff! Remove the "evn/" at the end and I think there is all of ambrosia's stuff there.

Thanks.

EDIT: What is that "AmbrosiaTunes" I see under the Freebies section? It isn't on the freebies section of the main website under utilities...

It's a download containing musics from many Ambrosia games converted in mp3 format and properly tagged, download it (though it's pretty heavy, like more than a hundred megabytes) and enjoy! What you see there can be easily seen by just browsing ftp.ambrosiasw.com.

By the way, the add-ons are back up now.
