Keeps crashing on me.
I recently tried to play Frozen Heart again, and after most of the movies, especially the hypermail sequence, it crashes the entire computer so badly that the only thing that still works is the emergency reboot. I know it should run, because I finished it once before on the same computer.
And please, nobody say, "add more RAM". It's already set to 250 megs.

I have a few questions:
Are you saying EVO is allocated 250MB of RAM?!?!?! That seems excessive. Or are you saying your comp has 250MB of Ram? Do you have only the FH plug files in the EVO Plugins folder? What comp and OS system are you using?
Actually, the computer has 224 real, 424 virtual. Or was that Storm's machine?
/me would turn virtual memory off and make sure the "Quicktime Movies" option stays on. It turns off inexplicably sometimes.
Beige G3/300, 9.2.(1? 2?). We have talked in #att of this problem.
It is indeed set to 250 megs. I really wanted to finish the game.
The memory is what Apple Core said, 224 real, 424 virtual. I am using a G3/300, running OS 9.2.2. I think Quicktime Movies are enabled, but it is somewhat iffy.
So, when you highlight EVO and go to File>Get Info, the preferred size allocated memory is 250,000 KB?
shakes head
I have 50000 KB preferred size memeory, for EVO, OS 9.2 and have never had a problem, even with addons.
Even on my 7600, running OS 8, my EV preferred size memory is only set to 44000 K.
Maybe your FH DL file got corrupted somehow. Did you save a stuffed version of the original? Try playing with another FH file and see if that works.

What do you mean by DL? Do you mean download? In which case, no, I didn't save the stuffed version, but I can get another one easily.
Yes, DL = download.
I would try using a new file, also. Sometimes they get corrupted when they get DLd. If the game still crashes on the new game file, then you know it's probably not the plug file. I never had any problems when I played it.
Something else, do you have the latest Quicktime version for your OS?
Anyone: isn't 250000 KB excessive for the game file preferred memory allocation?
I think I do. It 's version 6.0.3.
It probably is. What happened was, every time I crashed, I'd bump up the RAM another five or ten megs, and that would solve the problem. Until now.
