Well, there have been lots of polls of favorite Override ships, and of worst Override ships, but I wondered, what are the ships that everyone hates to have to fight against? Give a list of five ships that you hate to fight, and why. Here are my five:
Azdara - almost impossible to hit, and when you DO hit them, they'll hardly ever die. Oh yeah, and they come at you in big groups! Damn. :eek:
The Dreadnaught - for obvious reasons
Zidara - it's fast, it's manuverable, it don't look like a warship on the radar, but it damn well is. And it has the phased beam, and two fighters also with beams!
Voinian Interceptors - they just won't die! They're WAY to fast for a voinian ship, and the neutrons and rockets hit pretty hard, too.
Shuttles - the guilt trip from killing anything so puny is just too much.

Ships I hate to fight are:
Zidaras (if you are in a Lazira or worse). your shields go down so fast at the hands of those damn beams... particularly if the Zid fighters get a look-in too.
Azdgari Warships: If you don't have a plasma siphon, pair of phased beamers, or three dispy rocket launchers at the ready, anything is going to have problems. You hear "brrrrap" as the Warship disgorges it's Azdaras, and then a second later "bzap bzap bzap" as the Azdaras fire, and then seconds later "Woop Woop Woop... bang!" as your ship explodes. You simply cannot target and kill the Azdaras quick enough without the heavy short-range weaponry mentioned above.
Igazras. For some reason , Igazras cheat on my computer. Their phase turrets have twice the range of the phase turrets on anything else, and as such they are totally invincible.
Anything Zachit - Pursuit missiles from fast-moving objects... grrr... frustrating.

I'll have to say: The Azdgari Warship: Mainly because of the Azdaras.
The Zidara: I just hate the phased beam. Fighting against it with a Zidara is annoying as well because my beam uses fuel, and theirs doesn't.

Ships I hate to fight:
Zidara: Fast, and armed with hard-hitting beams. Nasty if you're not in a quick ship.
Voinian Cruiser: For someone who likes to use phase weapons, it takes ridiculously long to kill one of these things! You can pump phase cannon into it for a whole minute and it just sits there, firing off neutron turrets and laughing off your attack.
Azdaras: Too dang fast, shields recharge too dang fast, and they always seem to attack in groups.
Kraits: Yeah, you heard me right, kraits They were no sweat in 1.0.1, but they can be pesky little things in 1.0.2. I'm talking about early on in the game, of course, specifically during the attack Troub mission. If you're in anything less than a moderately sized warship, that massive swarm of kraits (at least 15 or so) will come in like some hive of light blue insects, and drain your shields little by little until you're toast. I've found there are few more humiliating ways to die.

They get spit out of the mother ship so fast that they move together like a snake. And I have never, ever been able to use the Plasma Siphon against them effectively.

Ships I hate to fight.
1)Azgdari Warship: I HATE their six Azdaras :mad:. You can't outrun the Azdaras, they eat up your sheilds and it takes ages just to kill one because of their damn sheild recharge. The actual warship isn't a problem, it just has 4 phase turrets. 2)Igazra: OY! How come they can shoot Phase Turrets with twice the range and I can't? :mad: 3)Dreadnought: Obvious reasons. 4)Kraits: Yes, Kraits :D. When I'm in a UE Cruiser 15 Kraits can eat at my sheilds because big ships have very innacurate Turrets. 5)Disco Bison: If only I could capture the *&$^@Ł :mad:

I agree with most of the previous posts (of ships you love to hate), and want to add one...the damned planet sized Arbiter in Femme Fatale. It is, however, a really great challenge.
Anything with guns.
In 1.0.1, I hated fighting Laziras, Igazras and UE Destroyers (in a Crescent Fighter). They have a nasty tendency to fire rockets, so you have to weasel them out.
In 1.0.2, any fighters. Afterburner...baaaad.

Even Monty Pythoning that one doesn't work because you get fired at for one second and you are toast. I took it on in a CW and lasted about 3 seconds. I think I was cheating once and did board it, but it didn't have anything that great on board. Even if one was to capture the sucker, it would just become a standard Emalgha Warship. Ya know, even as my escape pod was gliding away, that ship just kept firing. I don't think it would have stopped until it saw my hacked, mangled and dismembered body floating in space in about 12 different pieces.

The Disco Bison isn´t that hard. Just stay right behind all the time. The you could even get it with a shuttle. Even if it´s got improved Emalgia turrets, they can still only fire in 90°
The Zidara is very tough when you´re fighting more than two, almost impossible if you´re alone.
1. Voinian Cruiser- You can't kill it by yourself in a Destroyer 2. Krait- Damn their easy to kill but many of them waste your shields in seconds 3. Crescent Warship- two words: SAD launcher 4. Azdara- ugh..... need I say more? 5.Igazdra- The power is unimaginable

Of course not. Try a UE fighter instead.
If you hate azdaras, just do what I do. I know it's cheating, but it's fun.
Use Res-Edit to set the speed of the Azdara at 10, and then arm them with only space mines. it's a real ego boost to be flying 15 or 20 times faster than an Azdara, and then they blow themselves up while trying to kill you!

In no particular order -
Anything Voinian - For one simple reason: those rockets. They bust me up, and even when I cheat, they blow me all over the place.
Crescent Fighter - Specifically renegade ones. I don't hate fighting them, but I hate their prescence. They're small, are everywhere in the crescent, they get in the way, and are especially bad when I'm trying to up my combat rating at the beginning of a game or up my standing with a government. They do nothing for me, but they're everywhere.
Azdaras - Basically for all reasons previously stated.
Zidagar fighters - Just something about those beams coming at me from all directions...

I know what you mean...the first time I ever set up in an Azdara, I found proof that being a Zidagar supporter pays. Phased beams kill even quicker than dispersal rockets. I find that, if you're in an Azdara, you definately don't want to set up a hyper-route and just jump along. Zid. Fighters are fast enough to waylay you and put you down before you can jump out.
If I'm in a fighter, I hate Voinian HFs and Intercepters. Again it's 'cos of the rockets- Larger voinian ships tend to shoot all of theirs when you're safely ou of range, but the fighters get in close...

Everyone seems to hate azdaras -c'mon, they're not that bad.......But then again, I pilot an Igazra with all the engine upgrades, 5 phase turrets, and the plasma siphon

The first time I fought it I thought it was a wimp trader. so I got up to it and fired away, I noticed two things: 1. Hey its sheild bar isnt moving! 2. Hey, mine is and he doesnt seem to be using any kind of special weapon. and when I decided my sheild was getting too low I ran, but the damn thing has rang like nobodys bussiness! 3. ****! I didnt save!
