A survey for PoG:
Favorite Class : (You can pick the original PoG character as well as Trinity classes) Favorite Spell: Favorite Weapon: Favorite Music: Favorite Plugin:
My favorites are: Class:Swordsman/Ranger Spell:So far, either Fire Arrow or extra strength spell. I haven't gotten all of the Conjurer spells yet Weapon:Great Wolf Claws Music:I'd guess that my favorite music is the PoG theme song where it plays faster than normal, or maybe it's the music in crypts Plugin:Trinity
This is what I equip my Characters with:
Swordsman:Great War Axe of Misery, Elven Full Plate, Boots of Lightning, Ring of Unicorn(I haven't killed a Sea Giant yet), Belt of Stone, and Necklace of Stone.(This list is straight off my memory, see Standard)
Ranger:Boots of Armand, Great Wolf Claws, Lillith Sheild, Belt of Stone, Ring of Unicorn(See Above), Elven Hauberk, and Necklace of Stone.
Standard:Can't see until I get my license code
Conjurer:Oneron's Diadem, Elven Robe of Protection, Ring of Unicorn, Belt of Stone, Conjurer Staff, and Boots of Lightning.
I'm almost posotive that they all have the best stuff in the game that they can get, with the exception of Ring of Gods(which my standard char. has)
Best Armor:Elven Full Plate 60 Defense Best Weapon : (based upon damage)Great Wolf Claws 40-80 Damage Best Belt:Belt of Stone 10 Defense Best Helm:Necklace of Stone 34 Defense Best Shield:Lillith Shield 20 Defense Best Boots:Boots of Armand 12 Defense, +2 luck, +1 Speed Best Gloves/Ring:Ring of the Gods +3 all attributes except for speed, +1 speed
Feel free to add anything to the list of favorite things in PoG

Favorite Class: Ranger is the only class I've been, but I sure do appreciate it.
Favorite Spell: Luck Infusion
Favorite Weapon: Elven Bow of Destruction, due to the Bow of Patience incident I cant use anything else.
Favorite Music: I like the wind in the Plains.
Favorite Plugin: Trinity I guess, only one i've used.
------------------ "be happy or not!" -devo
My opinion, I'm afraid, will be much the same as Stark's, except on the other side of the plug-in dev battleground.
Class : Before, I would have said the Ranger. But with the upcoming release of a couple of certain plug-ins, I would have to say Conjurer.
Spell : Hm, I never did like the Conjurer's original spells. I would say either (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/cafall/images/tfm_03.jpg")Lightning Orb(/url) or Shockwave.
Weapon : Now I think I'm starting to give too much awayΒbut I'd say the Elven Bastard Sword.
Music : Strangely enough, I do kind like the Mysterious Tower music...
Plugin : (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/cafall/projects/tfm.html")I think we can all guess.(/url)
So that's my (extremely biased) view of the best parts of PoG... soon enough, you'll see the light as well!
P.S.: Stark's favorite plugin is TFM... he just doesn't want to admit it.

Unfortunately, TFM has been announced already, as has Spells Expander. And I did specifically state a plug-in currently in development that has yet to be announced.
Good try though.

What? Bacomatic's crazy chicken farm? How'd you know about that?

Having had the privilege of a sneak peak at both of the above mentioned plug-ins, I'd have to say that to load up both at the same time would not only be possible without conflict in story line but come close to doubling the present game with Trinity alone. One would have to work to keep the various quests organized, but that shouldn't be impossible.
Prepare yourselves, web board members, two GREAT ones are close to launch.

Favorite Class: Ranger. Will probably change to Conjurer when Cafallllllllllllllll's and Stark's plugs are released.
Favorite Spell: I can't remember any spells at all. I haven't played since EV: Nova was released.
Favorite Weapon: GWC.
Favorite Music: I never noticed the music.
Favorite Plugin: Trinity, as it's basically the only plug I've used.

Class: Conjuror, especially after helping Stark
Spell: It's kinda tied, one starts with M and ends in I and the other is abreviated WoW both in Spell Expander
Weapon: Haven't tried courage yet, so I have to say the GWC
Music: For a while I had the normal music replaced by Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. That was cool
Plugin: I'm sure it'll become a combo of Spells Expander and TFM but right now it has to be Trinity. None currently released can rival it

Favorite Class : Well have I have always been partial to Rangers (indeed I have recently started a plugin devoted to Rangers. They will have a place to call their own instead of some dinky little village. A Master Ranger will be able to drop a sea giant without a scratch, even if he has never visited the Witch Finger. Though the journey to this level will be a grueling one.)
Favorite Spell: For the time being, Weaken Favorite Weapon: gee, I wonder; GWC (though in the future it will be BOS) Favorite Music: don't have one Favorite Plugin: currently Trinity
Hey I like Pillars of garendall I'll take the survey too.
Favorite Class :Ranger Favorite Spell: A combo of sanccuary and fire arrow (you shoot from the sancuary) Favorite Weapon: Elven bow of destruction (I like the way it shoots it looks cool) Favorite Music: In the crypts Favorite Plugin: Trinity

Thank you for the tip. As Mr Mendleson can be obtuse, I was unaware that its possible to use the Claws with a shield. Likewise, I overlooked the possibility of using the necklace, I was under the impression it would replace the armor.
It may greatly improve my battle with the Guardian, I hope.
Cheers, MrMendleson
ps How long does it take to earn enough for a set of Great Wolf Claws? It seems that the treasue between the beasts is running out. Do the treasure and experience values go down as you slay more beasties in any given screen?

That's very helpful to include a picture - saves 999 words I'd like to take MrMendleson one step further.
MrM., When I was learning my way around this web board (a very short time ago) I found it helped me to have a copy of the UBB Code at my elbow. You can do this by clicking once on the link to the left of your posting screen shown (url="http://"http://mywebpage.netscape.com/rduckfwj/pictures/UBBcode.gif")here(/url) and then print it. When you reply, you can select just the portion of the original you wish to include by highlighting the un-needed portion and deleting that from your reply.
To answer your question about diminishing values: The experience points always remain the same, and the amount of treasure dropped is most affected by the luck you possess. But luck is just what it says it is, i.e. it is not a guarantee, only an increased chance.
Now, if someone can explain to me how to include quotes from two different responses, I'll be a more educated and happier guy. There must be an on-line manual for web posting tricks somewhere.

Mr. Rubber Ducky, ask and you shall receive!
Quoting more than once requires manually inserting UBB code. Recall that the "reply" button above only inserts the UBB code around the quoted text. If you remove that code then the quoting will not work.
Thus if you wish to quote a second, third, etc, source, then you just have to insert the correct UBB code. The code to quote is simply <quote> </quote> but make sure you put the words "quote" inside ( )'s(if I did that above you would have seen the actual quote box, heh). Obviously, place the text you wish to have quoted between the opening and closing quote calls. I usually cut and paste the text.
Furthermore, if you wish to make the quotes look like the auto-generated reply quotes, you would do it like this: (again, replace all < >'s with ( )'s)
<quote>Originally posted by someone's name here:<b> text text text</b></quote>
The above, when generated, will look like this:
Originally posted by someone's name here: ** text text text**
The <quote> opens the quote. "Originally posted by someone's name here:" gives the quote a source. The <b> makes the quoted text bold faced. The </b> ends the bold face(so the rest of your post isn't enboldened). The </quote> ends the quote. Again, substitute all < >'s with ( )'s.
I hope this helps. Any questions feel free to ask.

Thank's, Stark, that helps a lot! I was trying to pull up the other response box while in the middle of my answer, and it just doesn't want to do that.
This whole topic is probably worthy of its own thread rather than being tacked onto Mr. Tanis Half-Halo's survey. I hope he is not too upset with us about it. If I, or others, have more to say on the mechanics of web posting, let's do that - start a new thread.
Thank's, Tanis, for the use of your thread. Others may now feel free to post their survey opinions.
To the former part of your question, my ranger doesn't yet kill sea giants, so I believe that he got the money during a quest, or selling the several rings and elven full plate mail at Gywden Camp. Stark's guide has the location of the rings and EFPM. The EFPM is worth 10000 and the rings are worth 6000. There are 2 or 3 rings, so you can get between 22000-28000.
To the latter part of your question, no. The experience you get from monsters depends on the monster you kill. A goblin gives you 5 exp., while a sea giant gives you 3000 exp. The treasure that drops from monsters depends on your luck and the type of monster killed. Basically, the treasure that drops is completely random.
Thank you all,
With your mentoring, I may one day become a decent individual (so far as these boards are concerned).
Cheers! MrMendleson
