Has anyone made a EVO program for the Palm ??
------------------
Not, but someone's making EV for the TI calculator.

What about the eMate? It wouldn't be very easy in some asspects (the pen would be a pain sometimes.) But it could be done, couldn't it?

eMate? If you're talking about what I think you're talking about (which I doubt, since the eMate had a keyboard), then I ask you: where have you been? The eMate is long dead. Perhaps you mean Newton? Of course, that's dead too.
duhhhh... Newton lived in the 17th century

How much does a TI calcullator cost?
Usually between about $80 and $180, depending on the model and where you get it. Throw in the accessories needed to get Robin's program onto the calc and you're looking at about $100-$200.

you'll want the ti-86. it's got RAM galore it sells for around $115. your school's math department should have a graph link. if not, you can get a graphlink for $25 wholesale from calc.org and the adapter from TI. (that's what I did) I'm not making Ti-EV for the ti-89, but that's by far the best calc. hewlett packard has a comprable one to the 89. if you wanna know more, drop me a line. So it won't be compatible with the TI-83? Great pity.

eventually, yes. but the screen's a bit smaller, that's all. and i dunno the 83(+) RAM/ROM from a hole in the wall, i'm sure someone will fall in love with EV and port it

Wait a minute, how is it possible to have such a complex game on a graphing calculator? I didn't think it was possible.

kinda simple: all the ship sprites are scaled down to 99 or less, sprites 55 or less, the planets are 1111 or 1515, and everything's in 4 color grayscale. yeah, you can do grayscale in assembly also, it's an 8bit processor and the ppc is a 32bit. so most of the data is 8bits = 1 byte, some stuff like shields are 16bit, and the credits is actually 32bit, but anyway - that's how. everything is scaled down basically from 640480256 to 128642. There's more info at the (url="http://"http://209.67.19.99/~da_mac/orion/")()rion Productions(/url) site.
as for complex games, well, the TI calcs have the same processor as that of a gameboy. whatever you can imagine on a gameboy can be put on a calc
Hmmmm.... EV for the gameboy, now there's a thought

ev for the gameboy color or the new gameboy with an ARM processor!!
ev for the gameboy color
well that's what i meant, but now that i think of it, EV for B&W; gameboy would work too
or the new gameboy with an ARM processor!!
They're making ANOTHER gameboy?

yeah!!

Playing EV on the gameboy would be really hard. Think of all the functions in EV that we use keys for. You'd have to pull up a menu or somehting every time you wanted to land, hail, etc. Oh well - Ambrosia wil never do it anyway.

yeah, i admit that would suck. if you used like select as an alt key you could use A, alt-A, B, alt-B, alt-Start. 5 keys... targeting, 1st & 2nd weapon, etc and if you could re-assign keys by hitting start... about the menu thing, yeah, it sounds akward, but playing EV in 56 colors going down the highway!! DAMN!! think of final fantasy - menu driven, but it kicks @$$. furthermore, how often do you use the other keys? let's say A = fire primary, B = fire secondary, alt-A = target select, alt-B = ??, & alt-start = land for starters... don't have any secondary weapons assign something else to 'B'. anyway, it's fairly simple to change which keys do what. and i think some things like the hyperspace stuff, selecting secodary, escort controls, & so on may be more suited for a pop-up menu anyway. anyway, i'm carrying on about this key assigning / menu stuff & i'll stop now.

Not Issac Newton. The Newton was a palm sized computer. It was sort of like the Palm Pilot, but better at the time it was cancelled. It made Apple a lot of money, but not enough so they cancelled it.
