Ferazel.net

I Geroditus have registered the website ferazel.net

The idea is that any ferazel addict who wants to can have an email address of (yourname)@ferazel.net, which will be forwarded to your present email address, and if anyone is having trouble getting webspace (for Ferazel use only) then they can have a folder on the ferazel.net site. Please feel free to email me if you want either. geroditus@ferazel.net

Email addresses are restricted to 2 per person one for your name and one for your levels (if you have any).
Webspace is restricted to one site per set of levels, or per person if you have several sets of levels.

I was! I've been trying to get static IP addresses so that I could register it and it's really hard to out in the middle of nowhere. Damnit!

(edit) you've spelled it wrong too, moron. it's ferazel.net goes off to sulk in the corner (/edit)

(edit 2) also, the real ferazel.net would have had unlimited space , and e-mail addresses that weren't just some damned redirects. Who here would like an POP3 or IMAP account rather that an e-mail address that redirected it to another address? And wouldn't you like a subdomain? Doesn't xr.ferazel.net sound nice? And you can only have one webpage per person? Well, did mac.com have that restriction? Hell no. I don't either. Just think about what I've said and why don't you say who would have been a better webmaster with better stuff?? **** you, Geroditus. If you would have let me buy the domain (you still have a chance), you could do anything anyone else can. And I don't just allow board regulars. What kind of a weird rule is that?? (/edit 2)

That post is extremely offensive.

You have had the opportunity of getting the domain name. You claims you have been trying to get it for the last goodness-knows how long, but the purchase of a domain takes exactly and precisely ten minutes - you don't even have to have anywhere to host it.

If you had purchased the domain when you first saw it I would not have been able to buy it. I have seen it several times in the last few months on the 'whois' site and thought about getting it.

Why then do you snipe at me? Is it because I have managed to do something you wanted to do? I was not aware of your plans - nor to be frank would it have affected my actions if I had been. Having seen the intemperance of your posts I cannot believe you would allow - for instance - someone like myself who you disagree with to have an email or webspace if I asked for it.

The fact of the matter is that I now own the domain, and if you wish to set up your scheme before there are no longer any machines in the world that will run Ferazel's Wand you are going to have to pick a different domain name. In fact why don't you try ferazel.org - it's available - at the moment!

I'm glad ferazel.net even exists. However, I must admit ferazel09 had talked to me for quite some time about ferazel.net, but there is no way Geroditus could have known about those plans.

You can always get fw.net, ferazelswand.net, ferazeladdicts.net, and all the .org variations of those if they're available. I hope you do, because that POP3 email is tempting 😉

Damnit! I thought maybe I would get the domain.... oh well, I guess I'll register ferazelhosting.net.... sounds nifty anyway.

But you would have still have registered it even if you knew I had been planning? That is really mean, y'know.

I did wait six months after I first saw the site was available - after that time I concluded no one would seriously want it.
It's easy to say you want a domain but if the site has been available that long the general conclusion is that nobody is serious enough to get it.

Nonetheless I should not have said that - It wasn't true and I was merely reacting to your post. I'm sorry.

::Rich snobby tone:: Geroditus, I would be delighted if my site could be hosted by ferazel.net. Those rough fellows at mac.com were awful rude to me, throwing me out the door an little more then a moments notice, of all the nerve, my word. People these days have no respect for the finer things.
::End rich snobby tone::
Should I e-mail you the site folder? Or will you distribute passwords and log in names? Thanks in advance.

As to ferazel_09's post, just pretend he is being sarcastic and then it is less offensive. Or pretend that he speaks cotton candy, that too is less offensive.

Yes, if you email me the site folder I can get it up immediately. Then I can send username and password to you for updates as soon as I can get it sorted out. - It seems to be taking slightly longer than I anticipated.

It would also help if you filled in the registration form on the site. That way you get the email address and extension that you want.

By the way pop3 email is now available.

My last post on the subject, but it does mean something. Geroditus, how are you hosting all this? I'm sure it's not your own server. Otherwise you would have at least had POP3 e-mail. I understand if you couldn't figure out subdomains, i did ask a couple people before I completely knew how they worked. If you were using OS X Server though, e-mail is easy to figure out if you know how to create users (which is also not too hard). Also, how big is your maximum space (not for users, but the harddrive)? Are you running OS 9 for serving or something? Is your registrar hosting your server, which in fact doesn't exist but is just an allotted part of a large server. Is there a reason to hosting only people who commonly post here? I'm wondering all this because I want to know if you're doing quality hosting.

If you carefully examine the post before your last you will see that I am now able to offer pop3 email accounts as well as mail forwarding. I am not using my own server but I have some available space on a large commercial server.

In order to do subdomains on a third party server I would have to pay Ł10 ($16) per subdomain per year. Much though I love you all I am not prepared to do that unless I am reimbursed.

I'm sure you will understand that since this is in no way a commercial venture I cannot afford infinite webspace therefore some restriction has to be made.

Finally if you are not satisfied with the quality of the hosting, then you need not have anything to do with the site.

Going with a third-party webhost is fairly common.

Nothing personal, but it sounds like your hosting plan is a rip-off. My four sites have unlimited subdomains, and cost me between $10 ((url="http://"http://www.evula.net/")evula.net(/url) and (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/")evula.org(/url)) and $20 ((url="http://"http://www.evula.com/")evula.com(/url) and (url="http://"http://www.ev-nova.net/")ev-nova.net(/url)) per month.

If you ever want to give up ferazel.net, Geroditus, I'd be more than happy to assimilate it into my Empire. 😉

Then nothing on these boards would be offensive. I don't force myself to change the meaning of words like that, ever.

Well, maybe he intended the post to be read sarcastically, or maybe he was speaking cotton candy. Spamguy- I don't get what's hard to understand, cotton candy tastes good and does not offend, how can one differ? 🙂

Cotton candy tastes good when you first have it, but leaves you with the sticky aftermath.

(url="http://"http://Ferazel.NET")Ferazel.NET(/url) is now up and running, with pop3 mail accounts and subdomains all working properly.

Anyone who wants a ferazel.net email or webspace can sign up online at (url="http://"http://ferazel.net/register.html")ferazel.net/register.html(/url) . 😄

The only thing that isn't quite sorted yet is the web-boards which I hope to get working tomorrow.

Note on subdomains (I noticed this on the register page), don't put a "www." before the subdomain, else it sometimes just directs them to the main page (for example, (url="http://"http://www.forums.evula.com/")www.forums.evula.com(/url) and (url="http://"http://forums.evula.com/")forums.evula.com(/url)).
