8 and 1/2 hours, but I did it. I completely cheated though. I used the Asteroid Beam and EVula's Chearter plug-in. With and escape pod (as a ship) and the Asteroid Beams I landed on Stardock Alpha then positioned the escape pod towards Earth. I got a heavy object put it on my secondary weapon key and then demanded tribute to Earth. Then I turned off my moniter and left for a while. I checked up on it a few time. 8.5 hours later the Frigates stoped coming out! Too bad it was only 5,000 Credits tribute.

Once you're do finish, try dominating Earth in EVGE
If you're going to succeed with a cheat, it'd have to be one heck of a cheat (like invincibility or something), because even with the Alien Marauder you'll be mauled pretty fast.

You know everytime you leave the system the defense fleets go back up to their orginal number of ships.

I know.
The "ships" in the Earth defense fleet in EVGE take quite a while to actually die, and you'll generally be obliterated before you can attrit them by more than 1 or 2 and leave the system. That is, unless you're completely invincible (shieldre = 1 or something).

One time after taking out all of the ships at a planet, I accidently landed on the planet without demanding tribute again. I took off demanded tribute and no ships came out. So, maybe it is different when you land on planets
Honestly. I took over Earth without cheating... In a Shuttlecraft... No cheating at all... If you want to know how... Just ask... I'll tell you big secret... Okay here it is... Get a Shuttlecraft or any ship you got then get six Rebel cruiser escorts and attack a confed cruiser As soon as they launch all their fighters order them to halt position then hyper out, Then land and get six more rebel cruiser escorts, repeat process several times. Soon the system will be at it's ship limit, Hyper to earth demand tribute. One Frigate will come out.... only one... -- Get your shuttle and blow it up. then demand again, another frigate will come out... Demand about twenty times and bam, you got earth.. -- No cheating involved. And the goos part is, it only takes 20 minutes..

Hmm, sounds bothersome. I think I rather get a goverment ship (Rebel Cruiser or Destroyer, havent tried Destroyer yet) and have a good mix of escorts. Like the six Rebel Cruisers you suggest, or a mix or Rebel Destroyers, Cruisers, and Kestrels.

Actually... The defense fleets of planet do not instantly recharge. They slowly build themselves back up. This is something that I found out from Matt Burch just recently.

thats because, it would be unbalanced if they instantly rebulid their fleet.
Have you ever noticed, when you kill all their defence fleet in one hit, they dont send any out untill you demand tribute a second time.

I think he means that Cruisers work the best because they have fighters and they release them really really fast. Is that right?
