Work up a reasonable combat rating of noteworthy or higher. Check the bar at every spaceport bar you come across untill you get text from someone with the Rebellion Supply Bureau and complete that mission. Check Palshife's bar constantly for rebel missions. 1. Kill Confederates. 2. You can't. 3. Certainly not!! 4. Welcome to the boards.

Become a Rebel by getting a Decent Induvidual Legal Status in Rebel space. Just hang around spaceport bars and you'll eventually get a rebel mission to transport some parcels. After that, just work up a decent combat rating and legal status to get the rest of the missions

Just help the Rebels by destroying fed ships and doing rebel missions. To quit being a rebel just join the feds but they may not like you for a while so you'll probably need to get fake ID papers. Its no fun at all being a fed. JOIN THE REBELS!

Once you start the Rebel string, there is nothing, short of starting a new pilot, that you can do to become a Confed.

I think there might also be a mission in the default EV scenario that lets you become a Rebel from the Confed string. You go into a bar in Rebellion space and get grabbed by a bunch of men who take you to their leader. You then get told to blow up a Confed ship to change sides.
I think this happens, but I might be wrong- it was a very long time ago.

There's a bug that means you can't get plot missions. There is a fix, but I don't remember it's name...

Confederates ruled and defeated the aliens. Confederates might rule with Tyranny but the civil war is won, won by the glorius confederates. A confederate cruiser could easily take down any Rebel ship. The Rebels shall fall. I am a loyalist you could say. (But hey the feds aren't taxing tea, so ha.)

Me got cheat and it's no plug in (it's more like a glich) Go to a place where they sell Nuetron blasters then buy one (or sell all your stuff till you got enough room.) Then leave the planet not the system. swith your secondary weapon to Nuetron Blaster. Now land again (don't change your secondary weapon from Nuetron Blaster.) Now sell your Nuetron Blaster nd buy back all your narmal stuff. (if you sold any.) NOw leave the planet now shoot your Nuetron Blaster. You will currently be seeing lots of boom.

Just start helping them by killing their enemies like Rebels and Pirates. And doing missions against the Rebels and Pirates and doing the Confed Missions. P.S JOIN THE REBELLION!
