A Concise History Of The Conflict
2240 - Human race makes formal first contact with the Brox
2241 - Brox homeworld of Zarbroxx invaded and captured - Terran Star Empire begins to formulate as moderate members of Earth's governing council are pushed aside by more militant interests
2242 - Other three sentients discovered by deep space cruisers/probes - Hunn'stach and its support colony Arra'tos are quickly annexed
2243 - Calan colony worlds are captured, homeworld falls within three months - Support for the 'new order' on Earth grows amongst powerful industrial conglomerates who relish the potential of resource filled worlds and an unlimited supply of virtual slave labour
2244 - Militants complete final purges of moderates from Earth's government - Terran Navy begins its campaign against the Sauridians
2245 - Sauridia finally annexed after nearly nine months of intense fighting - Both Sauridian colonies fall soon after homeworld's surrender - Terran Navy suffers its worse recorded casualties yet (including the notorious Farazon Campaigns) with 265 warships destroyed or disabled and over 200,000 officers and crew reported lost
2246 - The Terran Star Empire is officially formed - Central Command formally replaces Earth's governing body - Terran Navy becomes the Colonial Navy, its primary commission to defend Earth's annexed holdings and deter against any dissention - Mass production of Naval warship platforms begins at Luna's shipyards
2247 - Central Command purges the last vestiges of dissention from Earth's now-defunct original ruling government
2248 - The Empire firmly establishes control over much of the known galaxy - Use of slave labour in the annexed outer rim results in record industrial production and solidifies Central Command's hold on power
2249 - uprising begins on Zarbroxx and quickly spreads to most of planet - Empire forces routed and forced to temporarily evacuate Zaphod system - Slave revolts begin in most of the Empire's annexed outer rim
2250 - The Weave is formed with the Brox and Hunn'sta its founding members - Calan and Sauridians soon join as The Uprising begans in earnest - Full scale war commences between the Empire and the fledgling alliance
2251 - Empire military supremacy forces the production of The Weave's first dedicated warships, the Argosy class destroyer and the Tavora class Attack Cruiser, which helps score a major Weave offensive in the Yemuro system. Other new ship designs are soon fielded as the conflict intensifies - Central Command commissions powerful new warship platforms which counter many of The Weave's initial battlefield successes
The year is 2252, the war between the Weave Alliance and the Terran Star Empire has entered a lull. Terran forces, reeling from their sudden defeat during the Uprising, have retreated to their inner colonies to lick their wounds. Meanwhile the represenatives of the former Terran slave races meet on the Brox world of Palshife to solidify their oposition to the Terrans. Unbeknownst to all, a new leader has arisen among the scattered groups of pirates and freebooters in the galaxy. United behind one banner the Pirates have become a major force in the escalating Galactic Conflict.

Blackthorne Station - Blackthorne Corporations Board of Directors "As all members can see, the newly unified fleets allow us several options. The Futures Division has drawup several plans that we can put into operation. Informatin regarding our options has been uploaded to each members screen. Please take a look."
As the members of the Board of Directors read over the proposal, some looked unhappy, since it would expose their particular worlds to attack, while otherwise some looked overjoyed at the fact it would expand their personal control.
"While these options are slightly risky, they give the best projections for long term expansion. If all members could now vote."
As each member voted, Chairman Rivay looked over the projections. If things went according to the medium succes projections, things would still turn out very well.
"Now that approval has been given, the Defence Division has asked for an appropriation of funds to upgrade all ships under our control. Projections show the upgrade will improve our forces fighting ability several fold. I expect you will all agree with me."
The directors quickly voted, and funds were diverted to upgrade the fleets light warships.
"All matters needing attending to have been dealt with, and this meeting is now called to a close. All members please be present at the next meeting."

Admiral Sveth Nighol was browsing over an enormous star chart of the entire galaxy when a sharp knock on the portal interrupted him. Nighol opened the door to see a young ensign. He seemed very excited that he would have the privilege of speaking to the Admiral, however shortly. Sir he began,Communications has received a transmission from Weave President Vaten. He has sent you your orders. Here they are, Sir. Nighol looked down at the sealed package. He took it off of the ensign. Thank you, Ensign. With that, he closed the portal. He grunted as he sat down in his chair, as it was nowhere near as comfortable as what you would find anywhere else. Fortunes of war. What do you expect? he thought to himself. He opened up the sealed package, and scanned its contents. He powered up his communications terminal that would route his message to where it needed to go.
To: Weave President Vaten From: Adm. Nighol Subject: Various Priority: Moderate Encryption: High
President Vaten, I agree entirely with the orders that you have issued. I shall defend Tiber to the last man. Perhaps you will be able to convince our Sauridian allies to strike at Olympus as well, as that system is poorly defended too. I suggest you order our scientists to research the Fighter Upgrade they have been babbling about; from what I've been able to piece together about it, it seems very useful. Also, regarding if you choose to the Weave Fighter Upgrade, will my fighters need to dry dock for a day or two to be upgraded? Or will I receive a shipment of Lasers that my technicians will be able to mount on them? There is more that I would like to say to you using real time equipment, channel AIM, frequency 156.694.34.DX. I shall hold at Tiber for now.
End Transmission
Nighol checked his message for grammatical errors, as the perfunctory task of proofreading that had been drilled into him years ago on Earth kicked in. He then sent it off to the communications module on his ship. It was then beamed to Palshife. Nighol checked the chronometer on the wall, and then set it to Palshife Capital Time. He realized that Vaten had probably already gone to sleep, so it was unlikely that he would read it until he woke up the next morning. Nighol set course towards the subspace communications station, on the bridge. He asked the comms officer to set up for an all ships broadcast. He then addressed the various ships under his command. He ordered,Attention all Weave ships. This is Admiral Nighol. I am issuing new orders to all of you. If Tiber is attacked, all ships with torpedoes will line up at minimum effective firing range, and Attack Cruiser will move slightly off to the side. After torpedoes have been fired, we will unload all fighters and advance forward, keeping the Beam Cruiser's laser end in front. Fire missiles when in range, and destroy as many ships as possible. Remember that if at all possible, evade those torpedoes, and dont come into range of the neutrons until necessary. That is all. With a hand signal to the comms officer, the transmission was cut off. He then made a brief stop in the communications module, meant for interstellar communication.
To: Chairman Rivay From: Admiral Nighol, chief of Weave Forces Subject: Truce, Possible Alliance Priority: Moderate Encryption: High Pirates - I am willing to talk with you about the terms of a possible truce, perhaps even an alliance. As a gesture of goodwill, I have ordered my forces not to arrest any pirates for the next week, unless they are actively breaking the law. Please reply at your convenience.
Then the Admiral retired to his quarters.

Every person in the large council chamber rose to their feet as Chairman Vehn Dorja walked through the large double doors of it's entrance. Walking around the large circular table in the center of the room the Chairman took his seat in the chair farthest from the entrance and began uploading the information from his datapad into the terminal in front of him. After the rest of the council had also taken their seats he began to speak, "Members of the Council, we have assembled here today to discuss the new fleet distributions and reorganization of our Colonial Navy for the coming year."
With a small wave of his hand Vehn activated the large Holo-Display showing the galactic map at the center of the room. "As you can see the Navy has been reorganized into five new fleets to be stationed in the following systems." As he said this the Holo-Display zoomed in on the systems of the Terran Star Empire, four of the systems were hilighted as information on the five fleets was displayed on the terminals in front of each council member.
Alpha Fleet: Centauri 2 Neutron Cruisers 6 Attack Frigates 8 Interceptors 6 Gunboats Beta Fleet: Eridani 2 Neutron Cruisers 6 Attack Frigates 8 Interceptors 6 Gunboats Gamma Fleet: Tau Ceti 2 Neutron Cruisers 6 Attack Frigates 8 Interceptors 6 Gunboats Delta Fleet: Capella 2 Neutron Cruisers 2 Missile Cruisers 6 Attack Frigates 12 Interceptors 12 Gunboats Theta Fleet: Pollux 2 Neutron Cruisers 2 Missile Cruisers 6 Attack Frigates 12 Interceptors 12 Gunboats
As the Council members scrolled through this information on their terminals Chairman Dorja continued with his briefing. "With this configuration we will have an extremely mobile and effective fighting force able to respond quickly to any attacks made on our systems, and at the same time have ships within striking distance of enemy systems at all times."
After another few hours the meeting wound to an end and the assembled council members slowly went their separate ways. Perhaps the only other item of note had been the allocation of $20M to begin upgrading the engines of the Empire's starfighter core.
Chairman Rivay looked at the message from the Weave commander and let out a smile. He quickly composed a reply.

Admiral Nighol woke from his sleep. He gazed out of the viewport, down towards the shipyards of Tiber. His entire fleet held a geosynchronous orbit over the shipyards below. The only thing that makes this place worthwhile is those shipypards he thought. I guess that's why I'm stationed here. He checked the progress report on his new Escort Carrier below. The hull had been completed, and 3 pulse turrets had been added over night. Only 1 of the missile racks had been installed as of yet, but all the Mantas and half of the Stingrays had already been completed on the production line. Now all they needed to do was install the huge shield generators, the engines, the rest of the pulse turrets, and the fighter bays. It was a rather prodigious rate that the workers were going at. There were three shifts of round the clock workers always toiling on the ship. Soon Nighol found himself thinking it will be ready. And then, my fleet shall be augmented so that we can strike at Ruby, and the Sauridians at Olympus. I pity the humans that surrender at Olympus.

Admiral Nighol woke from his sleep. He walked over to his viewport, and he saw the gleaming lights emanating from the shipyard. He called up a status report on the new Escort Carrier being built at the shipyards. He saw that in the last two days of work, the missile racks had been installed, the last 5 pulse turrets had been completed, the shield generators had been brought to maximum efficiency, and the fighter bays had been installed. Rather literally, the only thing that kept it from leaving the shipyards were the engines. He knew there must be swarms of mechanics and technicians working on the engines. The only answer that has yet to be devined he thought is it's name. What shall I call it? Ahh yes, I know. I'll call it the Eviscerater. Then, Nighol went back to his star chart.
The Road To War
Tiber system, 1450
It was time. The final attack. Who would survive this war, Vaten did not know. Whether the Pirates would sweep up the bits of the Terran Star Alliance and the Weave...or whether they would all simply perish in the devastating fighting he foresaw. But whatever the outcome, it had to be done. Vaten had conferred with all his advisors, and with the leaders of all four member races by trimensional viewer. It must be done.
The Weave Alliance fleet lifted off from Tiber, headed for the Mentos system. As it approached the entry point, space seemed to stretch until it no longer had any depth whatsoever. Each Weave ship sped up, faster and faster, finally turning into a pinpoint speck of light far in the distance, like a far-away star, and disappearing.
Sauron system, 1312
The clan elders had reached much the same conclusion as the Human, and, oddly enough, had done it completely of their own accord. They generally vehemently disagreed with Sa'amo Vaten's beliefs and orders, but had reached the conclusion that this had to be done, no matter what the casualties. Casualties. The word was ingrained into the Sauridian warrior's head from the very first fight. Sauridians fought to die for their clan's honor. They would see who would get the honor this time. It was they, or the brutish Terrans; and the elders of the Sauridian clans were determined.
Ten Raachaak battle dragons and thirteen Cobra laser ships lifted off the surface of Sauron, on course to rendezvous with the Weave Alliance fleet in Mentos. The elders could not even rest easy in the fact that the Weave Alliance fleet was being commanded by a true Weave member. Even the Human's finest general, S'veth Nighol, was a Terran, just like Vaten himself. The elders were mad enough to spit. They could not stop fate, however...and so let destiny take its course. As the Sauridian fleet disappeared into hyperspace, the elders called another meeting to decide what to do about "that Human leading us."
Calan system, 2304
On the aqueous planet of Calanar, a final celebration was being held to send the Calani fleet off to war. Little did they know what was in store for them, naive warmakers as they were. On the surface of the planet, all seemed normal, but the fleet was waiting out of sight, just behind...
On a prearranged signal, the fighters flew out, and in a spectacular display of showmanship, the expert Calani pilots completely dazzled the watching crowd. And then, suddenly as the order had come, it was time for the fleet to depart.
The fleet of shiny Weave and Calani ships slowly made its way away from the pilot, until, to the astonishment of the spectators (most of whom had never seen a ship in their lives), each ship became a speck of light and disappeared.
Ov'ron system, 0123
The magnificent Hunn'sta fleet was setting off to war. The target: Polaris. As the formidable combination of Hunn'sta Warships and Weave Alliance ships moved out into the bleak darkness of space, millions cheered on the surface. And then, suddenly, the fleet was gone. To Propus.
Zaphod system, 0505
Brox President Finuel Korlin was decidedly not happy. He heartily disagreed in general with any decision made by Sa'amo Vaten, but, like the Sauridian elders, had come to realize that it was necessary. The orders to all the member races had gone out at the same time, and each was moving. The Terran Star Alliance would be caught from all four directions, and, hopefully, be crushed. In his trimensional meeting with Vaten, he had expressed with vehemence his problems with the plan...and had been suitable rebuffed by the President. Vaten was simply not going to have any opposition to what he believed to be "the right thing."
The fleet moved out from Zarbroxx, gleaming in the light of the far-away sun. Korlin was still not happy, but he had made the decision not to challenge Vaten just yet. This was not the time. But it would come. It would come.
----------
Mentos system, 1800
The combined Sauridian-Weave fleet now numbered 42 ships. Deploying all the fighters, that number was increased to 81. The Weave and Sauridians would crush the Terrans under sheer force of numbers. Satisfied with the formation, the fleet jumped into the Antares system...
Yemuro system, 0746
The Brox fleet jumped into the system and released all fighters, bringing the number of ships in the fleet to 45. The fleet stormed the planet...
Propus system, 0320
Pinpoints of light appeared in the Polaris system. The defenders, thinking it was their Terran protectors, just went around their normal routine.
Suddenly, the sky blacked out. Looking up, the residents of Northstar realized that there were nine Hunn'sta and Weave cruisers over their heads. Deploying their fighters, that number suddenly changed to 41...
Capella system, 0100
The fleet stationed in Capella was not ready for anything of the magnitude that suddenly appeared in their system. Over 25 gleaming Calan and Weave ships had entered their territory, having previously released their fighters. Firing all ordinance at the startled Terran fleet, the Calan advanced...
Antares system, 2000
The combined Sauridian-Weave fleet stormed Antares, blowing every isolated Patrol Ship out of the sky. Unloading the fighters' missiles, the devastation started...
OOC: The ellipsi mean that the attack will be continued by the player who would normally command the fleet. I did get everyone's involved permission to do this, if anybody's wondering.

The Weave fleet reverted back into real space in the Mentos system. With a flicker, the first Destroyers popped out. Then the rest of the fleet. The Destroyers immediately set up a perimeter. The rest of the ships began doing one of their two objectives in the Mentos system: deploying their fighters. With each departure, there was a resounding thump throughout the entire hull. When all 50 fighters had been deployed, the fleet waited a little longer. While the pilots would be cramped on their journey to the Antares system, they would it was a rather necessary discomfort.
The Sauridian fleet reverted into real space, and they turned towards the Weave fleet. Hail them Sveth Nighol commanded. Yes, Admiral was the terse reply from the comm officer. Sveth looked at the forming image of a hulking Sauridian. An impressive sigh he is indeed thought Nighol. Admiral he began,I know you will not trust me. But President Vaten has seen it fit to appoint me in charge of this joint operation. Please, suspend your hatred and loathing of me for the entirety of this operation. I ask no more of you. Sauridians were known for their intransigent stance on outsiders. The Admiral was no exception. Human he hissed,My race doeznt like you but the High Command has placed me under you, so I will follow you. Lead our shipz well, human or else. With that, the Sauridian terminated the connection. Nighol turned towards the helm station. Navigation, is our course set? Yessir came the reply. Communications, upload our course to the entire fleet. Helm, take us out. Together, the combined might of the Sauridian and Weave fleets jumped towards the Antares system.
Sometime later
The patrol was very lonely. Surrounded by space in every direction, the attack frigate was the Antaress systems current watchdog. Its shift was ending in only 15 more minutes. The commander on the frigate was very bored. He itched to get down to the bars on the Antares system, as it had been pay day just yesterday and he had a ton of credits to spend. He ordered Helm to take one last orbit, and then they would dock at the starport below. When the Frigate came around to the point one would use to jump to the Menthos system, a huge pulse of energy came. Sir! the alarmed sensor operator said,Sir! We have multiple Weave contacts! 1 Beam Cruiser, 3 Escort Carriers, 10 Battle Dr- Silence, ensign! shouted the commander. Comm, beam the planet, request assistance. Weapons, choose the nearest target, and fire at will.
The fighters served their purpose. The fighters launched a huge volley of 156 missiles at the Frigate. All their missiles streaked towards the Frigate. A great many of them veered away were either shot down by the Frigate, but more than 140 of them hit the Frigate. Under the onslaught, the entire Frigate broke up. Massive secondary explosions resulted, but were quickly finished as the only oxygen they could consume leaked into space. The Bridge was no more than space dust, and the engines no longer fired. The only damage it had been able to do was fire 3 torpedoes. Only 2 of them hit their target.
The Battle for Antares had begun.
Admiral Nighol quickly called for the comm station to begin jamming the entire system.
The fighters, as had been planned, quickly returned to their carriers. The mechanics and technicians were waiting to rearm them there. Within 5 minutes, the entire fighter wing on each Escort Carrier had been rearmed with their missiles. Within 10 minutes, the 3 wings had launched. And within 15 minutes, the Defense fleet had finally scrambled. The fighters chose another more promising target this time - a Missile Cruiser. The fighters closed to maximum range and unleashed another onslaught, this time backed up by all of the Cobras. They all launched their missiles, and then they soared away.
However, the enemy had missiles too.
Under the barrage of neutron torpedoes and long range missiles, 3 Weave Destroyers broke up. But now the enemy was out of ordinance. The Destroyers and Escort Carriers combined easily took out another Cruiser - this time a Neutron. The Cruisers in return took out 2 Cobras and 2 Mantas. The resulting Neutron Cruisers explosion took out 40% of a nearby Battle Dragons shields.
Admiral Nighol powered up his communications terminal. He called for the jamming to end for a 2 minute period, and then sent two quick messages.

As the Calan fleet materalized out of hyperspace the small colony world's defense fleet broke orbit and assembled into a tight formation to launch fighters. When the large enemy fleet came into range both sides began exchanging long range weapons fire. Combined Neutron Torpeado and Missile Barrages turned one unfortunate Argosy Destroyer into molten slag while the two Terran Capitol ships began to absorb massive attacks of their own. Their shields down to nearly 30% the defesnse fleet scattered in disaray and fled back to the planet... Calan ships close on their tails. At the very moment the Weave ships caught up to the defense fleet just inside the planets gravity well the massed ships of Delta Fleet fell on them like a pack of wolves. Forming a protective semi circle around the badly mauled defese fleet Delta Fleet's Neutron and Missile Cruisers bagan unloading massive salvoes of missiles and N Torpedoes while the Faster Attack Frigates supported by two squadrons of fighters closed in for the kill.

Antares
Antares' belagured defense fleet was using the time given to them supposedly to "think over their surrender" to regroup and get what little feild repair work done as they could. After about 15 minutes the Weave commander obviously felt he had waited long enough, the combined enemy fleet, which had been keeping it's distance started once more to close in. With one thought on their minds "survive until reinforced" the ships retreated as fast as they could, fireing all that was left of their munitions as they did. Two Argosy destroyers flying in formation were hit by the last salvo of N Torpedoes, the splash damage destroying both. A short time later the Missle cruiser was began targeting the individual Mantas that had outstriped the rest of the fleet in the rush to attack their enemies. Destroying a fourth Manta with it's last missile the surviving Missile Cruiser joined the Neutron Cruiser in silence, prepareing for their last stand before death.
When the Weave fleet entered weapons range and began fireing torpedoes the two Capitol ships and last remaining Gunboat accelerated at full speed towards the massed Weave fleet, making straight for the Sauridian formation. Dodging torpeadoes as best they could the three ships made straight for the lead battle dragon and opened up full bore with Pule and Neutron cannons. Completly ignoring the buzzing of Laser Ships and the punding fire from the other Battle Dragons the two kept on fireing their turrets, and when it entered range the Neutron Cruiser opened up with its array of Cannons with devastating affect. The final nail into the Battle Dragon's coffin was pounded home by the last remaining Terran Gunboat as it crashed itself directly into the massive ship's main engine, with that the Battle Dragon exploded into a huge fireball. Both Terran ships, their shields down and their armour unable to take anymore puishment were caught full on by this explosion, as their hyperspace drives lost containment the fireball turned into the Apocolypse. Sauridian ships were flung in every direction as the shockwave played over them like the Tsunami of Earth. Two Laser Ships that had been chewing into the hull of the doomed Neutron Cruiser were completly vaporized, while the other Laser Ships and Battle Dragons were all damaged to some extent.
The Weave Commander sighed in relief as he saw the last Terran ship die. At last he thought Antares is... before he could complete this thought, however, another one invaded his mind. But why did they retreat so far?
