OOC: How exactly does the ETA system on the research work? Is it a post by anyone, or post by me? Or a post by anyone in the Weave (and member races)?
==========
Osiris system, 0450
The Defense Group for the Weave planet Endor was stationed in front of the hyperspace exit point, when a civilian Argosy with a strange IFF reading blew in. Two Stingrays left the Beam Cruiser's hold and intercepted the freighter for a deep cargo scan. The scan determined that the Argosy was in fact carrying top-secret Terran research plans. Commander Nivos' thought to himself for a few seconds.
That ship is coming from Ruby. The Terrans don't allow civilians inside that system. That means...oh my God. His voice crackled over the radio.
"Destroy that ship! Don't let it get away!"
The six Weave ships went full-speed after the civilian freighter. In seconds, it was reduced to dust from pulse and laser blasts. The Weave was safe, for now.
Vaten sat at his desk, reviewing the fight at Osiris. If it could be called a fight. A civilian Argosy carrying Terran technology was destroyed.
Thank God they got that ship; otherwise, we would be in deep **** right now...
Vaten decided to send an emissary to the Letheans, to see if they could be persuaded to join the cause. Ambassador Ta'vi was picked, and sent out immediately.

Civilian Argosy clarification: civilian vessels coming from Ruby can only be working for the Terrans, as the system is off-limits to non military personnel. Next time, try harder.

Warmaster Vehn Dorja leaned back with a grim smile as he watched the flagship of his latest rival break apart and spew it's atmosphere into the depths of space. With this victory the last of the Pirate gangs that had resisted him over the last few months would flock to his banner and his dominion over the Evildrome system would be complete. --------------------------------------------
(Three Hours Later) A rather grizzled looking man in an outdated Terran naval uniform approached the door to Warmaster Dorja's stateroom, he was Davis Morgan, captain of the Ill Wind, and sometime advisor to Vehn. Thirty years ago he had been a professor of Guerrilla Warfare & Military Intelligence at the Lunar Naval Academy. When the Terran military regime began it's infamous purges of anyone they deemed dangerous to their reign of terror, Morgan had faked his own death and escaped into unexplored space. After he learned that many of his closest friends had been brutally executed by Terran Death Squads he vowed that he would have his revenge against the new Terran Star Empire. As he entered the stateroom he noticed that Vehn had recently remodeled. Now spanning almost the entire width of the room was a huge holographic display showing the Milky Way Galaxy. Multicolored dots floated in midair showing fleet movements and statistics on various star systems that had caught the Warmaster's attention. Coughing lightly Morgan attempted to pull his friend's attention away from his new display "Sir, we just received some information from one of our informants on Blackthorn Station".
"Really?" Vehn replied, "What has the Corporation been up too lately?"
Morgan took a seat opposite the Warmaster and started with his report. "Apparently they have been making diplomatic overtures towards the Empire, our informant isn't sure, but he thinks there might be an alliance in the making."
Unperturbed, Vehn took his time with a reply. "Hmm, interesting... if true this could indicate a major shift in the balance of power. I wonder, however, if there isn't more to this than meets the eye. We will just have to be a little more vigilant."
Getting up and walking over to his new tactical display, Vehn continued. "Send a message too President Vaten through one of our agents on Palshife and tell him we have a proposal to counter this situation if in-fact there is an alliance involved between the Terrans and the Blackthorn Corporation. In the meantime contact Admiral firestorm and tell him to move is fleet to the NGC-5465 System and wait for further orders."

As I sat on the bridge of the Southern Loon an Ensign entered. "I have a message from Evildrome ,sir. Very well, put it through.
Message from Evildrome: Fleet Commander Firestorm, you and your fleet have been told to move to the NGC-5465.
I turned around to one of my Ensigns, Scriat. "Put me through to the fleet Ensign." All ships this is Commander Firestorm prepare your vessels for launch and hyperspace. We will be heading to the NGC-5465 system in 8 hours. Expect to see some minor resistance, but do not fire unless provoked.
After having addressed my fleets status I headed for my own quarters for an overview of our current situation with my first officer. "With these growing tensions between the Weave and Terran I think the Battles will be escalating even further," he said. "Yes," I replied, "We must do our best to avoid a direct confrontentation." Put all ships on a high alert status. As he left I went to my Rum stash as my units prepared for Hyperspace.

Admiral Nighol woke from his sleep. During his sleep, he had dreamt of some more military matters. First, he decided that it would be prudent, given the extra 15M credits in the Weave budget, if he ordered the Tiber shipyards to construct an extra Escort Carrier. However, he opened up his mail server in his quarters to confirm this idea with President Vaten. He was surprised to see a piece of mail from President Vaten. It apparently contained the orders for another Escort Carrier to be placed at Tiber. Good he thought to himself The President is still as sharp as ever. A thought occurred to him, and he decided to send another communiqué to the President.
To: President Vaten From: Adm. Nighol Subject: Potential Orders Priority: Moderately High Encryption: High
President Vaten: I have learned of the Sauridians intent to attack target Epsilon. As soon as this has occurred, it would seem prudent to me to move our fleet to the Mentos system, provided our current construction of the Escort Carrier is complete, to forestall any Empire counterattack upon the Sauridian capital from Tau Ceti. If the Empire makes a counterattack upon Tiber, which would be imprudent to say the least, we will have a large variety of targets to take back, quid pro quo style. If anyone strikes at Sauron, our fleet will be able to help the Sauridians as well as make it back to the Mentos system to help forestall an Empire advance. The Escort Carrier in the shipyards looks as if it is nearing completion. The workers there are so eager that I thought it would take at least 8 days to complete; instead it shall only take 3 or so! Soon the Empire shall suffer.
End Transmission
Nighol proofread his message, and then sent it off. He began issuing more orders for his fleet:
To: All Weave Ships, Tiber System From: Adm. Nighol Subject: More Orders Priority: Immediate Encryption: High
All Weave Ships: Effective immediately, if you engage a pirate ship known to carry nuclear launchers: Let 1 fighter draw fire from the nuclear launchers. All capital ships are to take evasive action and to spread out in case a nuclear rocket hits so as to minimize damage. If a hostile carrier is in the system, fighters are to shoot down the enemy fighters with missiles as they exit the carrier and all ships are to shoot ordinance at the hostile carrier whenever possible. When said fighters are out of projectiles, if possible, they should return to their carrier ships, but only if they can be restocked with missiles in under 5 minutes. That is all.
Nighol sat back down and kept looking over his star charts.
------------------ The Thunderhead Lance and Ion Cannon: Coming to an outfitter near you!
"Your request seems equitable. Procurement of one dreadnought plus three particle beams. I'll get on it immediately. I look forward to doing business with the Blackthorne Corporation." Mal smiled, and ended the meeting.

As it was not stated prior to this that the vessel was such, then the previous statement is untrue and I would advise Ipvicus that it be ignored. Although OOC knowledge limitations mean that it would make no difference to the Weave's response, by Rak not posting that the Argosy was a ploy, it can only be viewed that he is trying to manipulate a situation he messed up in. Rak did not say that the Argosy was outfitted with probes, and therefore they are not.
Furthermore, miniature probes that are undetectable to Weave scanners and able to survive the explosion of their mothership with ease should likely not be considered as a technology available already, but rather as something that could be researched if this webstory allowed research. Appearing with advanced technology because the story doesn't let you research it is worse than pathetic.
Chairman Rivay smiled as the report from Melthay came in, and authorised the transfer of 11 million credits to the Empire. The Corvette sent would bring back the 3 particle beams for installation into Rivays personal flagship and Corvettes. Rivay quicly sent a message to the Blackthorne Defence Corporation instructing them to prepare the ships.

Vaten, sitting at his desk as ever, read the latest bit of mail from Adm. Nighol. Sharp Admiral. If we move the fleet to Mentos after attacking, we'd have two fleets one system from each other. I'd like to see the Empire attack us then!
Vaten decided to move the Sauridian fleet to Mentos now anyway. Even if the Tau Ceti didn't attack, he was still within range of his previously intended target.
----------
Admiral N'vishan, commander of the Sauridian fleet, got a "suggestion" from President Vaten of the Weave Alliance that it would be prudent to move the fleet to Mentos. Irritated as ever by receiving orders from "that human," as he called him, N'vishan called his advisors around him to decide what they should do. Deciding that it would be prudent for now to obey the President, they moved the fleet to Mentos and readied for the possibility of Terrans ships entering.
