Name: Finuel Korlin

Goverment: Brox Revolutionary Allaince

Position: Captain

Bio: Finuel was a baby when the Terrans first showed their presence in the Brox system. He witnessed several towns, including his own, getting burned to the ground by the ruthless aliens. When he was an adolescent, his father and mother were sent to the labor camps. Two years later he recieved word that they were both killed as examples for the bombing of Terran barracks. When he heard of the revolution, he was one of he first to sign up, a way of paying the Terrans back for al of the pain they have caused him.

Ship: The B.R.S. Gambit (One of the first flagships in the Weave Alliance. It is quite possibly one of the most powerful ships in the Weave fleet. Finuel has been known to paint small phrases on each of the torpedoes his ship launches, his favorite being, "Brox or BUST")

Name: Sa'amo Vaten
Gov't: Weave Alliance
Position: President

Born Jim McDougal on the planet Earth, Vaten was commander of the TSA Genesis when Sauridia was invaded. Not being able to stand the sight of the magnificent reptiles as slaves, he defected (and changed his name to hide his identity somewhat), and was quite nearly disemboweled by the first few Sauridians that met him. Realizing he was probably not safe there, he hitched a transport to Zarbroxx, and then began to work his way up in the Weave's political structure. While the Calan and Hunn'sta are generally okay with having a human as their President, the Brox in particular have had a problem with it. This has led to some interesting situations...

Ship: The WAS Spider Queen, a heavily upgraded Argosy Destroyer, is Vaten's pride and joy of a Presidential Transport. He managed to steal some prototype neutron turrets from the Terrans, and so has four of them on his ship. He has also outfitted it with monster engines, to get away in case of danger.

It helped form my perspective on Pirates in general and how I thought they would figure into the Empire universe militarily. It seemed to me that little would have changed about Piracy in the future, and that they would be much the same as they always have been. There would be lots of them as a result of the ammount of maney to be made and the fact that everyone has been to busy to keep them in line. Also they wouldn't all like each other by any means, and any patnerships they did form would last only as long as the profit for themselves was assured.

Am I thus correct in assuming, Ipvicus, that you'll ensure that yourself and RMA do not exercise a level of command over your fleets as could be expected of Terrans or Weave? You might want to have a figure for the maximum percentage of available ships that will be willing to actually get their asses out of port.

The fleets as they are stand for the guys willing to get their asses out fo port at the begining of the webstory.

By the way I really wish people would quit bugging me about fleet numbers, the way I have them is the way they are going to stay. I have made very sure that for the begining of the game any supposed advantages that any side has over the other are cancelled out by other disadvantages. Think a kind of Axis & Allies type thing, one side has a small advantage in material at the begining, but the other side has the advantage in industrial production that will make him much more powerful as the game progresses. The winning side won't be determined by the forces involved, but the skill of the player.

Okay good news for a change, I have been able to get up a temporary map until my procrastinating friend finishes the good one in a couple days.

you can find it at (url="http://"http://members.aol.com/matrekie/empire/map.htm")http://members.aol.c.../empire/map.htm(/url)

Since I didn't put a legend on the map I'll put on here.

Solid colored dots are Colony systems.
Solid colored dots with black squares in the middle are Core Systems.
Solid colored dots with White squares in the middle are Capitol Systems.
Any system with a white circle around it has a shipyard.

With that map being up do you have a set starting time yet?

Why don't you start it tomorrow night, so everyone can be there and actively participate immediately. (well at least I check mostly at night)

Some issues regarding the map...I think there is a marked lack of shipyards on the Weave side. Mainly, I'm on my side of the galaxy and have 1 shipyard, in Nemasaar. Should that system be captured, I'd have no way to produce any further ships. I really think my capital, and the major world of Sirgil (which has a station and a planet) should have shipyards as well. I guess you are not basing it on whether actual systems in the game have shipyards or not, since most of the systems do. I think that the bottom right portion of the map needs a shipyard for the rebels as well, since they have the distinction of being spread out over the map. If the lack of shipyards can't be changed, I really hope that the story progresses very slowly, and I urge for a rule regarding that; There had better not be quick takings of systems resulting in a lot of chaos.

Kyle, you are joking. Non-Core worlds have no shipyards?

Yes, there is a severe lack of shipyards on the map, especially on the Rebel side. Oh, and Weave member race capitals count as Core Worlds for purposes of income, which means that the Weave has 5 Core Worlds and the Terrans have 6.

I guess I'll post my character vitals here as well. If anyone wants to see my character history, it's (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum6/HTML/002402-4.html")here(/url).

Name: Admiral S'veth Nighol
Ship: W.S.S. Trimension
Position: The Admiral in charge of the generic Weave fleet (rather than Brox, Calan, Hunn'sta, or Sauridian)

I based my placement of shipyards not on which systems had shipyards, almost every system does, but which systems were said to have a large industrial base. I also took into account that the Terrans are said repeatedly to have a much greater industrial machine than the Weave. The Calan are shown in the plug to have a very undeveloped industrial base compared to the other races so I think giving them more than one shipyard wouldn't fit with the plug. As for the progress rule, yes I think that is a very good idea and I think I will put one on the rules page before the story starts. Since there is a huge difference in the number of players between the Empire and the Weave I don't think it would be fair to use the BFS III rule of two systems per player, per page.

Here is what I propose:
The Empire and the Weave can each capture 4 systems per page, while the individual Pirate factions can only capture 3 systems because of their inferior organization. You can't save up your captures from one page to another, use them within the page or lose them. Also Liberations of systems taken from you within the last half page or so do not count as one of your alloted captures.

As for Gurion I looked at it in Empire: A War Without End just a few minutes ago, and it dosn't have the shipbuilding facilities that you say it has in the origional EV.

No sorry, this annoying concept called "reality" has made it impossible for me to start this later than about 3:00 US Eastern. Besides it dosn't really matter because attacks will be foribben until everyone has made their opening post.

Vice Admirals, since the home worlds of each Weave faction is the only planet on which you can obtain the unique ships, I definitely think that Calan, Sauron, Ov'ron, and Zarbroxx should have shipyards, as they are the major planets for each faction. And Sirgil I believe has an extensive shipyard. It's where I went to get all the Rebel missions, as it has 2 spaceport bars.
