On my game, I can only buy confed patrol ships after the alen misson. I need to know if anybody has a bug like that.

It's best to check the game files with RES-edit when you have problems like this. You can go in and make the ship availible for yourself, and at a reasonable price. Or you could keep the pilot file and re-download the game.

You can find it on the add-ons page under utilities (sp) or something of the like.
Or download it from Apple's site.

There is also a slightly more user-friendly version specifically for plugins called EV-Edit; it is not a great program but works for quick fixes. You can find it on the Add-Ons page.
I believe that is intentional, by the way. It doesn't make much sense though, now that I come to think of it. Why would you buy a patrol ship or a manta if you already had something badass enough to take out the Alien Cruiser? They should be available earlier on. Make a plug, sc2!

This is not a bug. You must earn the right to purchase Confed ships by defeating the aliens. Same for the Rebel ships and the Rebel alien mission. Get out there and fight, starcraft!

Wait, are you saying that you can only buy patrol ships (and not other confederat ships, such as the gunboat or frigate)?

Yes, i cant even fly the patrol ships. I killed like 6 Escort carriers in the Sol system also. But if i worked with the rebles for a while, would tha mess it up?

That may very well be the problem. Several bugs have been found in the early versions (which was the cause of long hours of frustration during my early EV days), but 1.0.3 and up have never caused me problems. I would highly recommend that you you upgrade to 1.0.5 when you get the chance. You'll also find much improved graphics.
Good rule of thumb: always make sure you're playing the latest version of the game.

If you've already registered Escape Velocity, then there is no fee. You can simply get the update by downloading EV at its (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/ev")official website(/url), or you can to the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/ev/addons.html")EV addons page(/url) and get the update there.
