So what if it's easier? Res-edit is so much cleaner and friendlier. What do you mean, cross-reference? Haven't you memorized the sp ** ย**

Agreed. When it comes to making plugins, I use ResEdit for all my dirty work. But Schmelta V is excellent for mission referencing and creation...

 - /me is surrounded by unpurists!
No offense, but ALL programs pail to the power and efficiency of Res-Edit. /me thinks you are the type who don't build webpages with code. :frown:

Purists unite! Go ResEdit!
Oh, I haven't actually memorized the spรถb tables, but I know all the ones I use frequently, like Palshife, Spica, and some others.

Your good in my book. Don't worry about the spยb tables - as long as you use res-edit your good.
Mac: Funny thing is, you were the one who recommend Schmelta V to me. ResEdit rocks at everything when it comes to plugins (I refuse to attempt any plugs without it), but some programs just make the going much easier and faster...

Not specifically. I've mentioned Schmelta-V in the past on the Dev Board, when specifically asked about mission editors, solely on the basis of its reputation, just to be helpful. That's different from recommending it. I acknowledge that not everyone can be a master ResEditor.

Regardless, I was still happy with the product you spoke of.
and I can create plugins entirely with ResEdit. But like I said, some things just make matters easier...

I just KNOW that you aren't talking to me. Or would you rather I smack you around with my copy of the all-mighty BBEdit?

Actually, she should be above evula.net, as I don't really promote THAT as much as Cara or the Lair.
In real life, the list goes: Cara, EVula.com, evula.net.

You use BBEdit? So do I! BBEdit is superior to all other HTML programs. I retract that statement.
Well, I'm kind of a plugin purist. I use ResEdit for most things...and MissionComputer for some of the others. Well, it's a good program!

Indeed, BBEdit rocks. I'm training Cara in it's ways, too.

Hรถhรถ, I'd like to see you making Nova plugins with ResEdit

Given that NovaTools is a set of ResEdit plug-ins, I'd say that's actually quite likely.

w00tRalphTools are ResEdit mods from what I understand, so it should be easy.
Originally posted by General Rak: You use BBEdit? So do I! BBEdit is superior to all other HTML programs.
Indeed. I only have the light version, but that's good enough, and certainly better than some WYSIWYG editor.

As Matt Burch told me directly, developers won't need ResEdit for Nova plugins anymore. The R&R; editors are going to be twice as easy and fast to use. When I asked him if ResEdit would still be a good way to create Nova plugins, he responded that it would be extremely different (and harder) then what EV/EVO developers are acustomed to...

He must have been referring to ResEdit without NovaTools, because w00tWare's main package is quite definitely a set of ResEdit plug-ins, although I understand there are a few stand-alone applications for more advanced functions.
