My theory is that when a karma change and a post are submitted to the same topic at the same time, it screws things up.

Agreed. This board isn't bright enough, and EV Override's scheme is rather dull. Mind you, I also liked the rust-coloured scheme that the EV Nova board had for a ~very~ short period of time when it changed from being the EV3 Board to being the EV Nova Board, but before the current one was put in place.
