Y'know, I bet each o the last three BFS III topics were thought to be the thread which would accompany the story. I wonder....
And, cadet, that's a planet, not an outpost. Geez!

Stargazer-class battlestation Shields: 14,000 Armor: 4,000 Armament: 100 Tri-photon turrets, 12 LRBM launchers, 800 LRBM's, 1 Buster Cannon, 6 HNR launchers, 120 HNR's, 80 Ghosts, 10 Gunstars. Price: $75 million. (note: the buster cannon isn't affected by the normal restrictions because this is a battlestation. Therefore it is possible to have both the buster cannon and other secondary weapons.)
Those changes just shaved about $35 million of the price.

Perhaps so, but I'd say you're still looking at about a 110 million outpost there. I'd prefer if all the outposts stayed at or below 100 million. How about if you just knock off the Buster Cannon? That would take it down to 100 million. I'll concede the point about the Buster going around the usual limitations, but do you really think it'd gain you anything on a station that can't move?
Unless you've got a better idea, I'll use the double ringed EV station graphic for that. BTW, I do have a good graphic for an Alien station, and can improvise something for the Dreden, so no one has to wory about graphics for these, unless you hate mine.
As for the extra money, I changed my mind on the excess fleet money. Note, if you will, that the Aliens are getting more benefit from this than the HC is, so don't accuse me of playing favorites. Though I do think Carno's fleet was only 599 million, and I didn't add another million,... I'll have to check. Anyway, it's not my fault you pirates all used up your full money.

A few questions:
I heard something about you can only capture 1 system per page. Is this true?
How much income per-post/whatever does each player of a government get? For instance, how much does my character get?
What are the rules on bringing in new alien civillizations/races/governments?
Who are the mods?
Can I be a mod?
What technologies are there for each government? Sure there are weapons, shields, blah blah blah, but what about techs? Like cloaking devices, inter-system warpgates, scattering fields, Disruption webs, etc.

Yeah. It became a problem last time, when the pirates posted a lot more than everyone else. They were capturing 3 to 4 systems per page (sometimes post) each. No one else could keep up with that, and asking nicely didn't help, so it's now a rule.
The government as a whole gets 5 million per standard planet and 10 million per Core World (dark center on the map) every three topic pages. Characters don't get personal funds, but you can always email your leader if you want something special.
Well, the Dreden are new to this story. The Aliens did pop up halfway through one, so I suppose you could mysteriously do it if you really needed to.
Right now, each of the govt. leaders.
Maybe. My only problem with that is that I'd like to keep the mods balanced, and having 1 Pirate, 3 HC, 1 Alien, and 1-3 Dreden isn't what I call balanced.
Haven't gotten very far into that yet. I remember last time the Pirates tried to invent a cloak, which got knocked down because one ship could cloak every ship or a type with it. Haven't explored that much, let me know if you have something specific.

Don't even think about it. This story is already complex as it is.

Heehee...
Today, we only get 20% of the energy out of fuel. The other 80% is just wasted. Now it's still probably like that during the time of EV and all that. It's gotten a little better, probably. But there is still a lot of energy in fuel that is wasted.
So, let's say we get 30% of all the energy out of fuel when we use it in ships. What if there was a way to purify the fuel and develope a better extracting method so we got 45% or 55% of the energy out of fuel. This would really improve jump ranges. You could get 2 extra jumps out of your fuel and not carry any more of it than you usually would. Now, this may not seem like much of an advantage, but in BFS fleets are really being held up by all their destroyers. All the bigger capitol ships have ranges of 8 or more, but the fleet is held up by destroyers which only have a jump range of 5. If this method was used, they would have a jump range of 7, greatly improving the length of time a fleet could go without fuel!
The disadvantage; thoron engines, sub-space drives, quantum thrusters, etc. use different methods. They don't use fuel anymore, instead they use thorons or some kind of sub-space/quantum reaction, and so this wouldn't help them much. But on the other hand, none of these are used in BFS.
Whaddya think?

Well, I'm finally through the weekend, and have access to my computer again, so now I just need to make the Dreden Trinity Cannon. We REALLY need to get this started. Let me tell you why:
Okay, that's all for now. So we need two players, right? If so, I'll go looking for potential players right away. I think that it is time for another recruitment ad.

Hey, you know what's funny? Then only reasonI registered here was for BFS III. I'm here to stay though, since I have discorvered the wonders of this place. I still remember when I e-mailed Captain Skyblade asking if I could join... 5 months ago... I'm serious, it has been five months since we posted BFS Registration and sign-up.

No arguments on starting. One of my friends might join as an Alien, so that would bring us down to one - maybe. Skyblade, if UE Crusader doesn't come back, do you think you can start with three? The Aliens are probably the most messed up eam right now, and it's not hard to figure out that two HC fleets are gunning for them. So, in a pinch, could you start with three?
Also, if this takes much longer to find the people, we may have to move one of the pirates, like or it not. I hate the idea, but it may become necessary. Do you pirates understand that?

Yeah, I'm a guy. But Witch? I sure hope that was intended.

Mabe. I dont know
Anyways. NOOOOO dont tear us pirates apart
Jager, the reason it might be needed is because the aliens are quite messed up, and I think that a race under slavery would have fewer players than the race controlling them. The same can be said in the Milky Way. The HC and Pirates should be even in players or one pirate down, because the HC is the major government there. And if you do switch a player, that one pirate would become an alien, so he's still on your side, according to the alliance you fought so hard for (you still have to get together in the game, though). So what's the problem with that? And also, the sooner we fix this, the sooner we start.

The reason it might be needed. I'm not quite there yet. Look at it this way, would you rather start with a different government or never start at all?
Mac, where'd you get that quote?

Mac (you Rat Fink!) I defy you to quote a single time when any of us pirates took 3 or 4 systems in one post. Such exaggeration!!!
Am I the only one who notices how "BFS III stable" we pirates are -- and how Mac keeps threatening to take one of us away? Hmm. Pirates equal renegades, equal "too independent," equal "hard to control," equal "only out for themselves" BUT WE ARE HANGING TOUGH WHILE YOU GOVERNMENT TYPES CANNOT KEEP YOUR TEAMS TOGETHER! You HC/Dreden/Aliens wish you had such a cohesive group. (Take that!)
