By repouser I think you mean Repulser (I seem to remember that in some plug somewhere) Beam. That is not in standard EV, but I think it is like the Tractor beam, but pushes people away instead of holding them near.
The tractor beam, I believe, you get from the Astrodyne Outpost (or some other Rebel) missions. It is not specifically made for the alien missions, but it can be very helpful in destroying those pesky fighters, and even the cruiser. But keep in mind that the "destroy aliens" mission does not require that you kill the fighters; just the cruiser.

Tractor beam is an excellent tool for use against those fast, annoying Alien fighters. Load up on as many laser cannons as possible, and use it along with the tractor beam. Works quite nicely.

What I do when I'm bored and have to beat the aliens is go into Resedit and give the Escape pod 5 turining and 500 au/h, and 700 proton bolts and turrets. That makes it very easy.
On an on topic note, the Tractor beam is a very helpful tool altoghether, especially against Lightings and other fighters.

Scroll to the very bottom of this screen, and there is a white box that says EV Board, or something to that effect, click, hold, and scroll to EVO Board, or something to that effect. They know more about EVO than us EV players.

There is too a Repulser Beam in EV. It's not a Plug, either. You can't buy it though, neither can you have it.
Oh, wait... I'm thinking of the beam that the Alien Fighters use. Dangit! But the Repulser Beam is like that, only it doesn't inflict damage.

The tractor beam is quite usful in EV to beat the aliens and bigger pirate ships, especially if you have a lot of sheilds and turrets. But as for EVO, I use the tractor beam in that game about as much as I go to the EVO board.

In EV, you get it from the Rebels when you insert operatives on Luna, I think. In EVO, you get it during the Voinian Dreadnaught missions.

It's in EV Override that the cloak gets lost when you change ships. Last time I checked, the Escape Velocity cloaking device is persistent, so the only way you can lose it is if you blow up and eject.

You sure about that? Last time I went through the Rebel mission string with version 1.0.5, I lost the cloaking device when I sold off my Scoutship and went for a Corvette...
I'm pretty sure that the mission text even mentions loss of the cloak if you buy a different vessel.
