There are two main ones(Some people are making new/better ones ) ResEdit and EVedit. Evedit is bugier than ResEdit but is easyer to use,since it was made specifically for EV/O. ResEdit is more stable (crashing wise) but wasn't made for this game specifically, so you kinda have to learn how to use it.

Personally, all I need to make plug-ins are ResEdit (for most stuff), Schmelta-V (for missions), and (url="http://"http://members01.chello.se/warlordpontus/ev/evomap.html")EVO Developer's Map,(/url) (for spobs and systems) which works for both EV and EVO. EV-Edit isn't worth the time you'll need to get around the bugs, viruses, and system crashes it causes. If you want to make your own sprites, you'll need mechanisto or another 3D artwork utility and MakeSpin. Good luck!

I learned to install custom skins for iTunes, Explorer splashes and throbbers, About This Macintosh replacements, and startup screens with resedit in less than half an hour of tinkering. It's easy.

Don't use EVEdit. Parts of it may be easier to use (I like ResEdit's interface better anyway myself), but it has a way of really screwing up plugs. Save yourself some grief and just learn ResEdit.

where do i learn them? i don't know how to use any of them, is there a on-line guild or something?
EV-Edit doesn't require any "training"; if you need help with that program, that's just sad.
ResEdit, however, does have a bit steeper learning curve. You'd probably do best by downloading a simple plugin from the Addons section, then open it up in ResEdit, just to have a look at what does what. Also read the (url="http://"http://www.evula.com/ev_bible/")EV Bible;(/url) it's (pretty much) the best documentation for creating EV plugs in ResEdit.

Yes, if you dominate a planet. You cannot own a planet in EV.

Specifically, there are four results of dominating a planet:
always being allowed to land there,
being paid tribute,
being hated by everyone around it, and
having bounty hunters sent to kill you.
Note that you still have to pay for ships, outfits, commodities and such on planets you've dominated, and, as Macavenger said, you don't own the planet - you've just got its inhabitants terrified of you.

Sometimes there just aren't any regular missions in the mission computer. Try the bar.
yes, the bar sometimes have mission to do, but as for my warship, i only do battle missions, the missions in the bar only cargo missions. Boring, i go off for domaination.

Click on any one of the links to recieve all the information you will need to find every mission in the game. But for god sakes, try to play the game more before asking questions that could be solved if you just stopped posting here for a while and started playing EV.
