OK, stop bugging Skyblade about the BfS graphics! Some of us bored Mac gamers have lives, ya' know!
Anyway, here's a new webstory, to pass the time. It's pretty an much open-ended, old-fashioned thing. Just the obvious rules, but you can make your own ships and outfits, as long as they're reasonable. I'll be the judge of what's reasonable, so just post stats for a new ship, and I'll give a green or red light. Get it? Got it! Good.
The Story So Far:
_Mankind has started to colonize the galaxy. All is well.
But wait...
Traders are disappearing near the Trugati Asteroid belt...
People are worried, and a group of space pirates has sprung up.
Rumor has it that a Confederation is forming...
To Fight
...whatever is hiding in the Asteroids.
What is it? Can it be stopped?

Not structured enough for BFS III players, I would expect. Too many unknowns, no significant rules. I think I'll stick to the Boozerama Bars, they already fill that niche, but with less unknowns.

It's not supposed to be serious. I am not a very serious person. And it's not just for BfS players, either. Everyone knows about it, whether they're in it or not.
OK, here's some rules:
1. You may control only your own character. 2. No total destruction. 3. No undefeatable protections. 4. Thread Moderators may revoke your posts at any time if they do not follow these rules. 8. Anything acquired or developed must be noted. 9. You must allow time for your opponent to respond in battle. No single-post battles!

Nah, who cares about lack of rules. The original BFS had no rules whatsoever, and it was also the most entertaining.

Captain Skyblade docked his heavilly-upgraded light freighter at Luna. The cargo of food (which the Triton Corsair was carrying) was quickly unloaded and taken to a local stock-house. Ever since word had been received that vessels were disappearing in the great asteroid belt to the south, panic had made a grip on the human race. Demand for food and other important resources was high in case something was out there that might threaten the humans. Skyblade happily took the pay of 125,000 credits and split it up with his Light Freighter crew of 21 members. For now, The Triton Corsair set course for Centauri to grab another cargo load...

Actually it is equivelent to soon in Nova terms. Which means we will get going about the year 2032 at the earliest.

Capt. Anderson took a look around, searching for any ships. He glanced at his radar, just to be sure. When he was offered a Cargo mission on Turin 5 to drop off some urgent supplies at Liberty Station,he thought why not take an easy 75,000? Now It seemed pretty dumb. The mysterious dissaperences were making everyone nervous. Escpecially Capt Anderson, because his only protection was sheilds and armor in his little shuttlecraft. He jumped out of the system, glad to finally be heading to Liberty Station.
------------------ It's all fun and games until the cat knocks the Nitroglicerine over.
As Jimbob jumped into the system (which system exactly), his shuttle craft was rocked by a large explosion. A pirated argosy had just exploded, throwing debris everywhere. Jimbob hurridly took evasive action as a large corvette swung through the system, launching missile left and right at the mass of civilian ships. A shuttle craft was hit by two missile in quick succession and flew spinning. It quickly slammed into an asteroid, exploding. The corvette began searching for any survivors of the massacre. The captain was of course, the infamous spl_cadet.
"Thanks again for the cargo run, Captain. I hope you find 200,000 credits good pay," the dockworker at Capella said. "If you're ever in the area again, drop us off some extra food and raw materials. We could always use more with the panic currently about."
"No problem," Skyblade replied. "But somebody has got to find out what it going on down there in the asteroid belt. None of the vessels that have been attacked have survived, and I fear there is something more than pirates lurking there in the dense belt of asteroids."
"I couldn't agree more," the dockworker replied. "Perhaps if the colonies throughout the galaxy could unite and form some kind of defense effort, we could find out what this mysterious enemy is and possibly defeat it should it come to that. But for now, just keep it cool."
The Triton Corsair pulled away from Capella, and headed for Earth.
Armament and stats of the Triton Corsair:

Armament: 3 Laser Turrets (we're going to say that the Confederation invents the Proton Turret), one Missile Launcher with ten Missiles, and two Flare Launchers with fifty Decoy Flares.

Looking for a quick escape, Jimbob flew his puny shuttlecraft away from Spl_cadet, weaving through the asteroids to dodge his shooting. He knew he needed to land on Liberty Station, because they were way short on supplies. This was probably why Spl_cadet was killing all the traders. But suddenly, he quit shooting. Jimbob knew it was his chance. He accelerated at full speed, heading toward the dock. He slowed and docked at the station, but he still needed to get the supplies from the cargo bay...
Hypering into the NGC-1776 system, Rak's sensors were flooded by reports of a most wanted pirate. He quickly scanned a decked out corvette massacring the traders in the area. Taking quick action, Rak unleashed a barage of heavy rockets and laser turret fire. The corvette was quickly brought down to 50% armour...
Starkiller paced up and down the control room of Liberty Station. A squadron of Hawks were being scrambled to try and take out that damn pirate, but already a number of traders had been massacred. One of them, Starkiller thought with anger, had been carrying badly-needed food supplies. He cursed, and yelled into the intercom, "Get that squadron flying!". At that moment, he saw ten Hawk fighters fly into the battlezone, towards the marauding corvette.

Before the hawks could get their, however, Rak's fleet had already destroyed the Crovette. Rak docked at Liberty Station and strode right into Starkillers office. The zodiac mongrel saluted him. Rak told him that his fleet was tasked to protect traders in the NGC-1776 system, and that he had orders to assume control over all of Liberty Stations defense assets...
"Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no..."
Luke was panicking. A large red blob had blipped across his moniter. And shot at him. With a beam weapon.
Shields failing.
"Uh... uh... um... Aha! The escape pod!"
Eject button selected. Eject in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
Luke had just finished strapping himself in when his small, grayish escape pod lurched forward.
Luke wasn't very fond of his escape pod; it was small, ugly, and had horrible rations. However, it was nearly imposible to target with weapon systems, and didn't show up on standard scanners. It was the grand-daddy of the now-common Merklin-Bater escape pod.
Luke looked at the small display screen. His scouter shuttle* (Kiribati Sytems first scoutship version) had exploded. The red blob blasted away. Oh, god... Luke thought, as he drifted through space, That ship cost a fortune!
*Statistics for scouter shuttle: Armor: 60 Shields: 30 Speed: 310 Accel: Good Turn: Good Guns: 4 Turrets: 2 Fuel: 700 (seven jumps) Length: 12 meters Mass: er... not too big... Cargo: 40 Space: 30 Crew: 5 Weapons: three Kiribati lasers (a bit worse than standard lasers)
Luckily for Luke, one of Rak's corvettes had detected a huge anomaly in a nearby system. Jumping in, it quickly recovered Luke's escape pod. Luke is given a new Scout Shuttle and a job with Liberty Traders.
