Magma 1.0.1 for EV looks great, but I'm having one little problem. Ok, big problem. The file won't decode, at all. Stuffit expander can't even find it in the folder it's in, I've tried drag and drop, that doesn't work either.
Someone have any insight on this problem or know where I can get an already decoded version of the plug?

I've heard others have this same problem, but not with MAGMA. If you like, I could send you an expanded version of the plug, but it would be a large file...

Yeah, that'd be great. Err, do you have ICQ? I don't remember if that works or not on the Mac..
Ooops. I just read your post that you can't use ICQ...

Scratch that...I've got some weird ICQ problem that isn't letting me open it now, I'll have to look into that later
Could you just send an expanded version to my friend at nickyb@ix.netcom.com? ( my email doesn't work, that's why I suggested ICQ )

I don't have ICQ anyway, just AIM...
Yeah, I just tried restarting and it still won't open. It appears in the taskbar, but double clicking or right clicking and telling it to open ICQ isn't working. This computer is falling apart..sigh.
I guess email is the only thing that will work.

That's a shame...Macs aren't suppost to fall apart! Anyway, I've heard that ICQ is very unreliable, which is why I was told not to use it...
I don't have a Mac, that's why ( anymore at least ) I used to have an old PPC 75 mhz 7200 Alpha but I got an offer I really couldn't refuse for it, 300 bucks is a lot for a computer that old, plus I really need to get a new PC.
I'm still a mac user at heart though. Emulation may be part of the problem, though I doubt it, considering that Stuffit Expander has been able to get all the other files expanded perfectly.

Oh, then that explains a few things. I didn't even know Aladdin made software for PC, unless you are using an emulator?
My only theory on expanding problems within Basilisk II would be the sheer size, it may have trouble emulating Stuffit and trying to scan the folder for stuffed files.
Another problem may just be simply how the plug-in was packed, it may not like emulators.
Aladdin does do software for the PC, but extracted files on the PC simply don't transfer to the mac well, only installers and such make it, I assume this has to do with resource fork problems.
<edit> That's how I get EV and EVO in, everything else couldn't find a program to open it. It was very frustrating until I figured out what was going on

Did you try downloading ICQ again? I can send you a copy if email doesn't work.
I'd hate to redownload, I'm not even sure I remember my password.
Skyblade, did you send the file? If you can't do it I'll go see what I can do about ICQ or maybe AIM.

No, I haven't sent you the file yet. I don't even have MAGMA on the computer I'm currently using, but I could download it for you in under a minute (I have cable. :)). All I need to know is if your e-mail account will support files over 1 megabyte...
Yep, I've gotten larger than one megabyte files on his account before, I guess so. I'll go check Netcom's site right now.
It seems as though you have a lot of problems with internet access, AnaerobicShark.
But anyway, if you download a new version of ICQ, I think you have to register again (I'm not sure). But try it, and in case it works, my ICQ number is 119293284.
Skyblade: I'm not sure where you heard that ICQ is unreliable, but I've found that it works quite well. In fact, I like it a lot more than AIM (I only have AIM because a lot more people use it, but I still like ICQ more).
<edit>Dang. I wrote my ICQ number wrong. Fixing it... </edit>

Hehe, yes I do have a lot of problems with it, as well as this tree sloth of a computer I have sitting here...
You don't have to re-register if you remember your password, I've seen the screen when I updated from 2000a to 2000b, I just had to make a new account because I didn't remember the pass.
<edit> I can't find where on Netcom/Earthlink's site the email capacity is, I'm assuming it can hold all of this. ------------------

Yeap. My older brother had ICQ, but stopped using it. "Unreliable and very buggy" is what I was told. Of all the IM software applications, I like MSN Messenger Service the best...
Shoot, I've got to run to go to that uh..enlightening <cough crap cough> graduation ceremony for tonight I unfortunately can't miss it. I should be back in about an hour and a half, is there anything else you need to ask before I go? I can stick around for about another 5 or 10 minutes.
