Objects:Why doesn't X object function during gameplay?

There are some objects that were never used in the final product of Ferazel's Wand , and thus were never given structure and/or function. If you use certain bonuses from the following list right, the most practical purpose they can serve are as extra door keys. Else, the rest will either not show up in the game or they will not function. A complete list of these objects:

() Taryn
(
) Sara
() Forest Nymph Sprite

) HPassages > 7 Tiles (maybe)
(*) All rope types ex. leather, regular, chain

| all functions work

() Forest Spirit
(
) Pirahna, Sentinel (maybe)
() Pirahna, Sentinel + Jumper (maybe)
(
) Water Urchin, both kinds
() Leech
(

(
) Locket
() Hammer

) Poppyseed Muffin
() Algernon or Gwendolyn Items

(
) Mist Potion **

    • 7/11/01: Reports from many are coming in that the vorpal dirk works. Essentially the number of uses it has is between the standard dagger's and the ice pick's. The VD (not that VD 🙂 ) is entirely a redundancy of the ice pick except with less strengh and fewer functions. In short, it's best to go with the ice pick unless special occasions call for the VD.

** - 7/11/01: The mist potion works to some degree. It allows you to float freely in midair, also letting you pass through solid objects. This potion is highly experimental and no concensus of its usability has been reached. Experiment with it yourself before using it in levels.

There are also certain spells that do not work. These are Ice Wall, Density Ball, Sandstorm, and Energy Ball, spell values 7 through 11.

Me again, I think it would be good to note here, that the Forest Spirit has NO sprites, unlike the other listed objects. Meaning that the Forest Spirit is totally inoperative.

I think another good note is that the Waith enemy is invicible, having not reached that enemy in the real game, I assumed that it like all other enemies, was vincible. After fighting it for several full minutes and then spending another minute sifting through the sprities file (searching for death sprites), I FINALLY became convinced you can't kill them. This was very frustrating and might help out someone else

Now I actually have a question: Do the spells like the second Ice Wall, Density Ball, Sandstorm, and Energy Ball. Actually work under some conditions?

Vorpal Dirk and Mist Potion do work.

Do they work as advertised? Major issue here...show me an example of these two items working and I'll fix it and give you due credit.

Greetings - I am your friendly neighborhood moderator. Welcome to the boards!

Do they work with your game? I use 1.0.2, and they work just like they're supposed to. Vorpal Dirk does about twice as much damage as a dagger, and Mist Potion lets you roam through walls. I'll e-mail you a small level with them in it.

The Mist Potion does work. I don't know about the Vorpal Dirk. I will test it. Also, to note, I am using 1.03.

By the way, Sara and Taryn work only 50%. You have to jump on them for them to talk to you. But, Forest Nymph Matriarch works 100%. You don't have to jump on her to make her work.

Hi guys! I'm new to the editing scene but I thought I would shove my oar in here.

The Vorpal Dirk does work and is very useful for picking your way through walls when you run out of magic potion. The mist potion also works but is of limited use. you can pick up loose items but not open treasure chests.

Hence my statement that everything the VD can do, the ice pick can do too, if not better. That's why if you're given a choice between the VD and the ice pick, you should usually always use the ice pick because of its usage in the original game. The VD should only be used when special occasions call for it.
