I'm assuming those first 6 were landing picts...if so, I remember a while back, there were some Nova screenshots. One in particluar was of the Landing window (the one shown after you land on a planet). These landings would fit perfectly in that window...but Nova isn't the EV3 senario, is it (sarcasm, cause It seems like it is)? Oh well, back to the shadows for me...PEACE YO!

This isn't going to be just another plug-in and a patch to add three new features, like in EVO, right? I mean, the EV engine is great, but it's old. If it's the same thing for the third time, I'll be disappointed.

Very interesting......judging from the landing graphics it would seem the EV3 scenario will be different from what EV and EVO had......for example, those space station rings circling a planet in that one pic. It reminds me of something Martin Turner would think up for the Frozen Heart universe or something......either way Mr. Andrew, this looks very spiffy. I hope Ambrosia keeps up the good work!

Currently contemplating suicide. If there's any single game that deserves netplay more than EV, I don't know what it is. It would just be so... perfect. The absolute pinnacle of any game around.
Forgive the rant-ish tone, but why the hell can't Ambrosia release a netplayable EV? I looked on the Newswire site, and both EV and EV:O are top of the list of favorite Ambrosia games, despite the fact that you have to vote for just one (and therefore the total EV votes are divided into two categories). That means that not only is EV Ambrosia's crown jewel, it is also twice as good as the competition. Easily. Why Ambrosia can't go this extra mile for the majority of their fans, I'll never know.
Do you need a petition or something? Even in completely unrelated chat areas (such as Rampancy Hotline Server... a group devoted to the now-MS-owned gaming company Bungie), my news that there will be an EV3 brought more excitement than anything I can remember, while my announcement that Andrew stated that it wouldn't be networkable brought more weeping and gnashing of teeth than I can believe.

I want to suggest a feature. Could you put a little Auto-AI thing on it that would watch your playing, and model a AI to put in a plugin or stick in the program.

Well... They have gone over this over, and over, and over. To put it simpley, they just don't have the resources or time to work on a project of this magnitude. Look for Magus's post on the B&B; Board for more detailed aguments.

Actually, andrew has said that ASW does have the resources... they just don't have the time and at this point they're not interested... I'd assume Ben Spees and the rest of the Ambrosia crew want to have the freedom to work on their own projects, rather than being chained to people's expectations.

I, too, would like to know if EV3 will be expandable with plug-ins. If so, is the official landing pics size for EV3 612x285 pixels? I would like to start making landing pics for the plug-ins for this new game. Should I save them in thousands of colors as what, a .pict file, a .jpg file? Jude

Actually landing pics are in 32 bits, thats millions of colors, and it wouldn't be EV if it didn't have plug in support, most likely plug designers will have many new options to make their plug unique. Otherwise it would have a small replay value.
