On the "Upcoming" page, Uplink clearly states "Closed, in beta", thus, no new beta testers are needed. If it said "Open, in beta", then more beta testers would be allowed in. It's a bit late to ask to beta something a week from its release.

When and where exactly does ASW look for people for their closed betas. I would really like to participate in some of them, but I have never seen requests for testers anywhere.
They usually send out emails to people who are on current beta projects, or sometimes if you are lucky enough to see one that says "open" you can send in your application.
If you keep an eye on Inside Mac Games (http://www.insidemacgames.com/), they usually let you know when companies are accepting beta applications. That's where I heard about (and got accepted into) the pop-pop beta test.
For discussion of how to get onto the Beta lists, I suggest you use the Ambrosia Banter board.
