Has anyone thought about doing Avara in Sauerbraten (Cube 2) engine? It has real-time map editing that works online with multiple players, would be great for Avara.
I'd love to be able to play it again in some form anyway, I know it's not a very well known game, but it would work well in its own right if it could be brought up-to-date. A simple addition of some new team modes like capture the flag and you'd have a great game that would appeal to people who never even played the original.
Anyway, good luck to anyone who's having a go!
Avara doesn't really need built-in "team modes" because it can do everything via maps.
