I miss everyone. I hope the other post on this board could mean some sort of revival around here. It's really a damn shame.

Actually, the best thing you can do for Avara IS play it. Personally though, I think a great aspect of Avara is that it does not need Ambrosia as much as the other Ambrosia games do. Of course, it would be much better if this board was more active...

(url="http://"http://www.netformz.org/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl")http://www.netformz....d/UltraBoard.pl(/url) That used to be very active but still its more actice thatn this.
I think most people know about the ALD forums. Most of the discussion there seems to do with Avara 2 and then turns into flame wars though...
Is there going to be an Avara 2?

No. All there is at the other board is talk of an Avara 2.
Get over it. Play Avara.

I'm sure Taz!'s information is better than mine, but it seems ASW is using their resources for more important new projects at the moment, if moki's month long work on Snapz Pro X earlier this year was any proof.

It is such a shame to let Avara fade away though... yes, we all know and love it, but how much more could easily be done with it? At the very least, it should be "re-introduced" with a frenzy equal to that of the recent release of PoG...
I think the main obstacle to furthering its popularity is that now, especially, it seems quite dated. Though I loved playing it, I don't find it to have the same charm as the EV series or, obviously, the fact that it doesn't have the utility of Snapz Pro.

Actually, I think the problem is the lack of people who can/would actually do an Avara II. One must remember that Ambrosia makes very little themselves, if there was a decent Avara II project going on then Ambrosia could easily help with testing, support, distributing, etc.
Possibly, but I also think back and realize that no matter how fervent the fan base Avara didn't really have a huge popularity and it's numbers that count.

True.
In all actuallity, I'm rather content with how Avara is right now. Which is good since that's how its going to be anyway.
This forum now looks so barren... I've posted several topics here in the past, but they've all been mysteriously deleted. The Ares webboard is going through the same thing. Regular posters are hard to come by...

Not likely. I've only deleted one post from here - that one containing a discourse with many of the seven words you can't say on TV. Check your preferences to see how many days worth of posts are being viewed?
Being the type of guy who roots for the underdog I'd like to see a resurgence in Avara fandom, but I also don't think that's going to happen.

Agreed. Since the frequency of postings on this forum is so low, it's very likely that no one posted to them and they slowly slipped from the screen.

Really though, one of the best things about Avara is the community. Do you get that kind of feeling playing Unreal Tournement, Quake III, or almost any other online game? Of course not. Sure, Avara has the occasional ******* , but for the most part the people there are fun to play with and just talk too.

Ah, yes... My prefrences are screwed (they don't take affect), so I guessed that all the additional topics had been deleted. All the topics I remember are still there.
Agreed. That's part of why I like the ASW boards as a whole. They tend to create this same feeling of community, we know something about everybody and I've noticed that people are rather free with sharing personal information and getting to know one another in addition to meeting each other in real life.
