Poser is an electronic barbie doll, you put clothes on her, move her parts, etc. good for character creation. Bryce/Vue/Mojoworld are 3D apps geared at landscape creation, a very good example of this is in the Coldstone artwork board. Bryce is particurarly useful for it's tree lab,rock generator and for creating tiles, the others should be the same, I don't own them. As for the saving being disabled, be creative. Buy yourself a copy of snapz, render everything against a white background, snapz it and there you go - instant stamps.
